I for one am shocked at all the FReepers who are okay with this behavior. I have no doubt that it is true, because I have heard similar stories from dumped wives, and seen this same storyline on countless advice columns.

Basically the guy wants to cheat and wants the okay from the wife to ease his guilt. It's win-win because even if she says no then he can divorce her and say, "she dumped me". It's vile and wrong and it's why I will be voting for Santorum.
