Newt Gingrich asked for ‘open marriage,’ former wife says
Boston Globe ^ | 1/19/12 | Shira Schoenberg

An ex-wife of Newt Gingrich told ABC News’s “Nightline” that the Republican presidential candidate wanted an “open marriage.”

In a published clip of Brian Ross’s interview with Marianne Gingrich, which will air tonight, Marianne Gingrich said her husband wanted her to accept the fact that he had a mistress. “He was asking to have an open marriage and I refused,” she said.

Marianne Gingrich said Newt Gingrich admitted to his six-year affair with Callista, a congressional aide who is now married to the candidate. Newt Gingrich allegedly said Callista “doesn’t care what I do.”

Asked for her response, Marianne Gingrich said she responded, “No, that is not a marriage.”

According to ABC News, Marianne Gingrich will say her husband does not have the moral character to be president. She will express her shock at learning that her husband conducted his affair with Callista “in my bedroom in our apartment in Washington.”

Gingrich is a progressive. He loves government programs.

Wrong, but you are correct about newts dirty laundry, it is impossible for one person to know about it all, but computers help. As to his voting record, I know all I need to know there, plus the vote on his ethics. He was retired sucking on the government tit and should have stayed there.

Does anyone doubt that Newt has asked for, and been granted, the forgiveness of God? . . . . . .

_________________________________________________________

I suppose that’s a fair question. I can forgive but I’m not an idiot. If a person who lives with me steals from me and asks forgivness I can forgive them, but you better believe that I will have everything locked up where he can’t get at it.

A person who cheats on their wives is a serial adulterer, a cheater and a liar.

I would never put Newt in a position of trust again, period. It is not a matter of forgivness, it is matter of sanity. An alcoholic can stop drinking but the last thing you want to do is give him a job as a bartender.

I don’t understand how it is that we can so easily condone adultry, it is a horrible thing to do. Asking for an open marriage just shows what lack of judgment that Newt has, what a lack of moral character he has.

If you don’t find this request for an open marriage as evil then you need to think about it a little more. We all gave Clinton Hell for what he did but now we look the other way? We all made fun of Clinton when he had the different preachers in helping him to find forgivness, for Newt it is OK?

His ex-wife has nothing to gain except revenge. I doubt that anybody had to put her up to it, she has probably been begging someone to print her story.

If it is Obama and Newt I will vote Newt if I vote at all. I am now an anybody but Newt voter, I sure hope this puts Rick Santorum in the drivers seat.

"Newt needs to come out strong today to Defend Traditional Marriage"

Which one?

But really, don’t women love that? How else can you explain somebody who looks like the love child of Phyllis Diller and Winnie the Pooh hoodwinking not one but three women (that we know of)?

People don’t care about morality anymore.

Yawn. A bitter ex-wife with decade-old allegations? Is this the best Romney can do?

I'm no Romney fan but I'd say it is more likely the LSM is behind this.

You are lying to yourself and engaging in hero-worship if you claim to KNOW whether or not Santorum has dirty laundry. THAT IS A FACT.

The only thing you "know" about Santorum's personal scandals, or lack of them, is what he and others have told you.

PERIOD.

Make your decision based on what you know, okay? And be honest enough to differentiate what you think you know, from what you DO know.

Sticking to that course, there's still plenty of reason to vote for Santorum.

But thinking that a good reason to vote for Santorum is because "he hasn't had three wives!" is STOOOOOOOOOPID.

"As Krauthammer has pointed out, there will be three debates between Obama and whoever the Republicans nominate, and they won't be determinative of who wins the election."

No, but watching Rubio clean Biden's clock may very well be...

I don’t think Newt was preaching at Clinton about his sex life. I think there was a little matter of lying to a grand jury involved but everyone seems to have forgotten that. The leftwing media has done their job well.

Have never understood the ideal some people have that forgiveness requires you to let them sleep with your wife. I can forgive the child molester, and the next second pull the switch that sends his soul to judgment. I would even try and not enjoy pulling the switch.
