Armey, the same man that outed Valerie Plame and then didn't come forward and accept responsibility for his actions?

Me too. LOL It turned out that the problem was my heart and not my lungs, so they were able to fix the heart, mostly.

Thank you for your kind words.

I think Newt should start pushing an anti-status-quo message strongly. He can try to co-opt that from Ron Paul. He should say Romney will always have more money to campaign than him because, just like Obama was before, Romney is backed by big Wall Street money. And that’s because Wall Street has been making out just fine during the past couple years and has no desire to change Washington D.C. Romney is the candidate of the status quo and Newt is the candidate who wants to restore the greatness of America for all Americans.

I think he has a personal reason. Look it up. I posted the story as an explanation, but the thread was pulled and I was spanked by JimRob. I felt like an ass. I wasn't trying to dis Newt but rather trying to give a possible explanation. Oh well, lesson learned. Look it up for yourself.

Thanks for the background on Hume’ son and Paxon.

It is clear something was off with Hume tonight.

BTW, tonight’s win would not have been possible without Rick Perry’s sacrifice. He proved himself to be a great man.

I hope Newt helps Perry to fight off the Feds.

Yes. The momentum will shift in a major way. Florida is not a liberal state, at least the GOP isn’t. And it is a closed primary. All these factors weigh in Newt’s favor.

Newt won almost all the counties and he says he could end up winning them all. The map looks like Reagan 1984.

That map was amazing - heart warming to see - that means he'll take most - maybe all, the delegates - WOOT WOOT NEWT!

This will gather steam as America gets a ray of REAL HOPE -

I predict more and more people will start paying attention and pitch in -

We CAN send the WH squatter packing - we should buy him and his - ah, wife - a one ticket - to Indonesia.

It has been ugly to behold. Here is a list of disappointments among those I thought had conservativeism at heart. These folks should have been exposing Romney’s liberalism instead of carrying his water:

Dennis Prager (Who I generally enjoy)

Rush Limbaugh (Non-committed attacks on Romney’s liberalism)

Mark Levin (Non-committed attacks on Romney’s liberalism)

Hugh Hewitt

Fox News (As a whole)

Senator Coburn

Ann Coulter (Biggest Disappointment)

Michael Medved (not in agreement often, but good debater)

Dennis Miller (Libertarian, but usually insightful)

Sean Hannity (Lumped into Fox failure to be balanced, better lately)

Herman Cain (Weak endorsement)

Michelle Bachmann (Unfortunately a Romneybot)

Brit Hume (Too tied in with Weekly Standard crowd)

... and Glen Beck. This is a sad list, but we have been shown who our friends are: the people, those same people to whom Reagan spoke, over the heads of the media and pundits. Among the politicians and chattering class, the brilliant exceptions are Governor Rick Perry and Governor Sarah Palin. Governor Palin did everything she could do to support Newt except to endorse him, which her contract does not permit.

It will be a lopsided battle this year. The entire media and punditry will oppose Newt. Even the conservative commentators will grant only grudging approval. I can't see these prima donnas entirely renouncing their current positions. Newt will need to make good use of his bully pulpit at the debates, where he is unfiltered by the hostile media.

During the last debate, I realized that the cheers of the crowd is Newt's sustenance. He is accustomed to getting zero support elsewhere. It's very lonely. The RINOs say that he's just a rabble rouser, but the truth, the flip side, is that he experiences the exquisite loneliness of the true leader.

Just to set the chronology. Newt’s son was 28 and a journalist in his own right (Hill, I think). He committed suicide and THEN the rumor was floated about him and Paxon.

As that story was breaking, Paxon suddenly resigned, so with one dead and one out of power, and being a tad tawdry, the story just hung out there in the rumor mill. BUT, it was related to the whole business of the GOP leadership (Armey/Boehner/Paxon) going to Newt to insist he resign as Speaker. Apparently THAT story was broken by none other than, ta da .. young Mr. Hume.

Then, as the story goes, there was in-fighting among the triumvirate, with a split between Armey/Paxon. Thus, it is thought in some quarters that it was Armey, not Newt, who dropped the Paxon/Hume rumor.

I don’t know that Newt with his lesbian sister would think that either young Hume’s or Paxon’s being gay would be such a big deal. Stuff happens. In the best of families.

But the ‘outing’ wasn’t the underlying cause for young Mr. Hume’s suicide as best I recollect.

Nonetheless, if there is that deep, emotional, highly personal animus by Brit for Newt, justified or not, he should NOT be covering this election. Shame on him. Like a judge, as an influential opinion shaper, Brit should recuse himself from covering this election, or make clear the basis of his animus. As it is, his faithful followers of many years are just puzzled that the normally mild mannered reporter has taken to being so hateful.

I agree. Newt needs to point out that capitalism without morality leads to the corrupt Unions that blossomed from the industrial age. Our Founders were very clear on this point.

We don't want Unions, we want principled capitalist that motivate their employees to work hard and reap the reward that the companies success brings with teamwork!

Thank you, South Carolina Americans!!! True patriotic Americans you all are!!! From the magnificent, critical “Cow Pens” battle victory fought on South Carolina soil by General Daniel Morgan, his Southern volunteers and regular militia during the American revolution through to this evening with this important, critical Newt Gingrich political victory in the 2012 South Carolina Republican Party POTUS Primary election, South Carolina, once again proves to the entire nation its loyalty and dedication to the United States of America, its freedom, its liberty, its opportunity, its future!!!

And......just as thr great, heroic, General Morgan and his troops brought freedom from British tyranny and freedom for America, the vote this evening by South Carolina voters will be a giant step in freeing America from the dictator grip of POTUS Obama and the un-American, Democrat Party!!!

Fantastic results:
- Newt Gingrich wins with 240,000 votes!!!
- Rick Santorum places third and lives to fight another day!!!
- Ron Paul continues to contribute positives to the campaign and country!!!
- And......most important, not noted by the Obama Lamestream Media the total votes cast went from the 2008 total of 446,000 to a 2012 total of 600,000 votes cast!!! This is bad news for POTUS Obama and the entire Democrat Party. This fantastic turnout is a true measure of how the American voter wishes POTUS Obama to be defeated, come November, 2012!!!

This continuing fight for the Republican POTUS nominee will consume media and TV time and restrict the Obamabots, if handled correctly by Republican leaders and potential candidates. Ongoing debates will overshadow any speech that Obama and his “hate America” ilk can put forth!!! Adm. Bill Halsey used to say, “Kill Japs, Kill Japs, Kill Japs” and used this as his motto in WWII, and....ditto for Gen. George Patton, who touted, “don’t you be a dead hero for giving your life for your country, be a real hero and let your enemy die for his country. So.....the mantra is attack, attack, attack and destroy Obama & his Democrat Party, politically, before they destroy the American Republic!!!

Yes, and it was good to hear Newt thank him. He also said he spoke to Perry tonight, and he would enlist his help in downsizing the government.

Newt gave an outstanding speech. He said that people say he is a great debater. Instead, he said, he is able to understand what people want and convey it. (Not a direct quote, but the general idea.)
