shouldn’t we have something to say about the source of the bitterness

Tough to do that. I do some divorce work. I hate it, because the bitterness on BOTH sides can be palpable to the point of suffocating. And when you first come into the case, often you really can't pin down who started it or how. And I'm talking about after you've done personal interviews and taken detailed discovery. So I just can't take it seriously when people like us, light-years removed from the true facts of the Gingrich case, sit in judgment over people we don't really know. Now I know the passage in the Sermon on the Mount is often twisted to falsely imply we should tolerate of immoral behavior. It means nothing of the kind. However, it does imply, at a minimum, that such judgment of others is often dead wrong because unlike God and those close to the facts, the rest of us just don't really know what happened or why. Our treatment of others should always be tempered by a healthy respect for our own ignorance.

It amazes me that people think the American people would choose someone like Calista Gingrich as First Lady. Imho, this will turn off huge numbers of people - a woman who had an adulterous affair with a married man for over six years.

Oh? And how about a First Lady who lived with the abortion doctor who delivered her for six years?

He has MS and due to that, he could feel like he has a lump in his throat all the time, he could be having throat spasms, etc. I’m sure on many days, he’s just glad to be able to get in front of the camera.

1 Corinthians 5-13

“I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.

What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

I am Catholic, Newt is Catholic, ergo I am within my rights to judge Newt, just as the Church is within their rights to judge me.

Omigosh. And to think I started this.

Please, can we not do religion anymore. Those religious threads can go on into eternity with people quoting bible verses to each other until we all want to SCREAM.

The Apostles Creed says, we believe in the forgiveness of sins.’

Thank God for that or we’d all go to hell, but let’s leave that out of it now.

I am the guilty one and Now I’m paying for it.

Neil Cavuto has MS

Also Krouthammer on Fox is paralyzed from the neck down. That is the reason his speech is affected.

I try always to take truth seriously. The denial of what you said here in black in white doesn't qualify.

No need for the aspirin. I'm feeling really good.

And I'll feel a lot better when I find out that Newt trounced Mitt today.

Now enough of this stuff.......back to the show.....

I didn’t know he had MS.
Another TV personality who comes to mind with this annoying voice characteristic is Rachel Ray.

Forget it. I asked him earlier for a conservative Santorum-Gingrich Supporter truce here on FR today (and turn our joint sites on Romney and Obongo) and he never got back to me and still continues to engage in juvenile, insulting and rude language towards other Freepers who are sincere in supporting their conservative choice. I would just forget it. Some people are just beyond reaching. I on my side still will have more positive for my guy than anything particularly bad to say about Newt. Even if this pledge is unrequited.

ABSOLUTELY! Completely spot-on assessment. Thanks for the badly needed adult intervention in this childish food fight.

You have my utmost respect for such wise and gracious words!

I am a realist. We are where we are. The choices we have are just that, the ones we have. I was a Palin supporter. A great woman of faith, married to one man, “one to lead us who submits to God's leadership”.

BUT SHE'S NOT RUNNING. She, like Santorum, have NO CHANCE of winning the South Carolina primary.

Newt can be controlled. Newt considers himself an environmentalist. Good, so am I. He has said in effect that for example, nuclear energy reduces our dependence on foreign oil and reduces green house gasses. Everybody wins. I'm okay with that. Do I think that man made pollution is contributing to global warming? NO! Maybe Newt does. Who cares. He has said he thinks the jury is still out on it. He is persuadable on it, he is not an ideologue about it.

If Newt wants to make bio fuel from Algae (actually promising) instead of corn, I'm all for it. He is a “reasonable” environmentalist. So am I.

Newt perfect? Hardly. He is the ONLY real choice we have. Warts and all he is still the best qualified, most intelligent, most conservative, best funded, best speaking, most likely to beat Romney & Obama choice we have.

Swallow hard and vote for Newt.

I’m not saying that Newt is solely responsible for the divorce. Marianne has to be responsible for her part. But we can’t go back and say look, Marianne is a shrew, a witch, a homebreaker, and then give Newt a pass for all of it. Newt has to bear up to the fact that yes, he had two failed marriages - he’s partially responsible for both.

Arguing that he was ‘taken advantage in his first marraige’ - he was 19. Old enough to go abroad and fight in the military. Old enough to get legally married. Nobody forced him to make that decision to marry, he chose to marry her.

Maybe he finally found true love with Callista, and if so, that’s good for him. But he still has the obligations that he undertook with Jackie. He can’t just go back and say that it all didn’t happen. It did happen and there are consequences for it.

This is different then how it was for Karen Santorum - she lived with a man, she wasn’t a Christian at all. There are different standards that the Church has for those who are Christians and those who are not. Newt got a Christian marriage. That’s the problem here. Had Newt not been a Christian and then came over - it would not have been a problem the way it was that he got married.

Look at it this way - the Church teaches that if you convert, you stay married to your wife. You don’t have to get remarried in the Catholic church. The reason for this, is because the Catholic church holds that marriage is valid, even if it happens outside of the Church. The consequence of this principle is what seems to be tripping people up.

Cavuto has MS and it has affected his voice so that isn’t his fault

I think he had cancer,too? oops :)
But he was definitely all mushy for Mittens. I give Cavuto a little slack because he is more of an investment guy than a political analyst.

I share your concern on the global warming thing.

I don't think we have to worry about Newt or any of the others on AGW. It is politically dead. The climategate emails killed it.

That, and three bitter cold winters in a row ('08-'10).
