I am the only ex-mormon in my all-mormon family and they are all voting lockstep for Romney. And if you ask them why, his being a mormon is never mentioned. BS and obfuscation to the last, like I’m the stranger on the street they need to convince that they all think for themselves.
If Romney weren’t in the picture, and BHO announced he had converted to LDS, at least 80% of mormons would vote for him without hesitation.

I’ve been out for decades. I was one of three children bought by a childless mormon couple from a mormon physician who had a little under the table adoption service...celestial godhood requitrement and so on...to have children and raise them as good mormons. I left the church and home at sixteen and was discouraged from coming home for about fifteen years, when my adopted dad suffered a stroke, I was allowed back. He passed away, and I guess there’s an uneasy truce. My mother and I talk, but my brother and sister are super mormons and openly disdainful or hateful. Visiting is always a hostile situation.
