Legendary former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno is gravely ill and his family is rushing to State College to be by his side, his family has confirmed
According to Onward State, Paterno was taken off of a respirator earlier today. However, the Paterno family has not confirmed that report.
Facebook and Twitter are flooded with students and fans saying that they are praying for Joe and for the Paterno family.
“Over the last few days Joe Paterno has experienced further health complications,” spokesman Dan McGinn said in a brief statement Saturday to The Associated Press. “His doctors have now characterized his status as serious."
“His family will have no comment on the situation and asks that their privacy be respected during this difficult time,” he said.

Did Paterno ever see a child in the Penn State locker room? I'm not even asking if he saw a child being sexually asaulted. I'm talking about just seeing a child there. Do you know?

I’m with you. This story turned my stomch so much that I avoided it, and not clear on what Paterno’s great sin(s) were.
The outcome of all of this probably took it’s toll. Prayers to the family.

So you can defend Paterno all you want. He was a willing accomplice to the rape of children whether you want to admit it to yourself or not. That's all I need to know. He shouldn't be dying surround by his family. At best he should be dying in a prison hospital somewhere. Sadly, he's apparently escaped that fate.

What a disgusting thing - to imply that any of us Catholics had a part in any cover-up of pedophile priests and that we weren’t outraged or disgusted. I will pray that you remove your head from your rectum & retract that comment.
As for Joe Pa, I am not convinced that he wasn’t a pedophile enabler, but as a Christian I hope he repented, sough God’s mercy & forgiveness, & that God will have mercy on his soul. Hell is a very bad place that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. And, heaven rejoices when sinners repent.
