I think they are calling it as quickly as possible so that tonight is not “interesting” and does not attract a lot of attention. Make Newt’s victory “boring” and forgettable so that it doesn’t slop over into Florida. In that way, the media gives Romney another chance.
This goes back to an argument of mine in that the MSM should not be calling anything until every last vote is counted. In calling elections based on exit polls is a way of affecting the vote before it is even all counted. This is especially bad on election nights when the presidential candidates face off.
This practice should be outlawed.
