I too dreamed of trashing Newt in my maidenform undies but woke to the zot.

“Yep. I actually really liked resty and will miss her. She needs our prayers.”

I feel badly for her-—like she needed friends and guidance.

“Well the fact of the matter is that not that long ago we were all really pissed at Newt for supporting Scozzafava.”

And rightly so. Then Newt got back on the right side of that. There is no pure conservative in this primary. There is one pure liberal though. And on that note, I am changing my tagline.

No whoah here!! They trashed Palin and drove her out. They trashed Perry, Bachmann, Cain and drove them all out. They trashed Gingrich and nearly drove him out, but he fought them off and recovered. I’ll be damned if I’m going to allow FR to be used to trash Newt again, driving him out and thereby handing the nomination to the abortionist/statist Myth Romney!!

FUMR!! Screw them all!!

NOT ON MY WATCH!!

We fight to the last FReeper!!

Trash our last standing best shot conservative on this site, they get the boot!!

Rebellion is here. Join or die!!

Don’t tread on me!!

I’m not going to argue with the site’s owner, so this is my last post on this subject, at least with you.

But Newt ain’t perfect, and it’s not good for “getting him elected” simply to act as if his numerous flaws don’t even EXIST. That’s crazy. (Bear in mind my initial post was chiding a Newt critic/ troll for using 2.5 -year-old articles to criticize him.)

You DO want him (or some conservative) to get elected, don’t you? Ignoring the flaws that any human being brings to the table isn’t the way to do that.

BTW I am glad you mentioned Perry. He was my guy. (I say wistfully that he was my Fred Thompson this time around. I seem to pick the guys who were SUPPOSED to come in and suddenly take the lead, but don’t.) Maybe Perry can be Sec Energy under Newt.

Obviously Mittens doesn’t even warrant discussion, pretty much ditto for Ron Paul.

When I add things up, it is pretty much a no brainer. Gingrich deserves our respect and admiration for breaking the Democrat deadlock on Congress that was 2 generations old. But that is it. Just as a Sam Adams could start a Revolution, it took a John Adams to help finish it. Newt is a Sam, he is not a John. No disrespect to the Speaker. but Santorum has a lot better convservative credentials and less baggage overall than Newt.

I would rather take my chances with a Santorum in the Oval Office whose main political mistake was supporting an incumbent moderate Senator who took on Clarence Thomas’ nomination (who by the way turned out to be the BEST Supreme Court Justice in our era) than a Newt fawning over what Woodrow and FDR would have done and running to Nancy P to get her take on what he should do.

I think the odds on beating Obama won’t be affected that much by who the Republican candidate is, so we may as well go for the most conservative and principled one.

I never said he was. Neither has he. He has warts. So does Perry. So does Santorum. They all have warts. They’re politicians for crying out loud. But while they have warts, Romney has leprosy!!

No Romney, No way!!

That’s an interesting comparison, Newt as Sam (Adams) rather than John.

But no one much liked John ... at the time. People bought beers for SAM, baby. :P Sam got the Indian costumes on and threw the BRITISH TEA INTO BOSTON HARBOR, baby. :P

Newt, unusually for a politician, has learned how to apologize and admit wrong and stupid deeds. In my book that is not a weakness but a strength. But again, what the good folk of SC picked up on is that Newt’s first thoughts are politically conservative thoughts, even though from time to time he second guesses those thoughts and, for example, sits on a couch and makes nice with Nancy Pelosi ... for which he apologized and said it was the stupidest thing he’s ever done.

He thinks basically conservative and he is not intimidated by the likes of the left or the entrenched powers-that-be in DC. That is what got him votes in SC. And it will get him votes in a lot more states than that, South and North, West and East.

Mitt noticeably spends too much time thinking about what is supposed to say in any given setting rather than just saying plainly and convincingly what he really believes. Now, if he were back to running to be a blue state governor, senator, or congressman, yeah, maybe. You could maybe take a deep breathe, hold your nose in the voting booth, pull the right levers, jump out, and then once more gulp untainted air into your lungs. But not when it comes to the presidency. We have a chance to put a conservative in - battered and flawed perhaps, but a conservative. Newt is the only good choice left.

My apologies to the Santorum people. Rick is a good man. But this is not his time. Rick needs to think this through very carefully and do what is right and helpful for the nation.

LOL. Monk made the middle graphic specifically about Resty because of her use of exclamation points.

I actually really liked the woman and pray for her often. She is spiritually blind and unfortunately that has affected her political decisions as well.

When I read your post, I think of Pulp Fiction and it’s paraphrasing of Ezekiel ...”and I will strike down upon those with great vengeance and with furious anger on those who attempt to poison and destroy my brother. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

P.S. I’m not attempting to blaspheme
