We are no longer at altitude, no stumbling, no ripcords
I too have a feeling this is a test for Rick Santorum. He does have trouble paying too much attention to what the liberal faction of the republican party tell him. Though he was just doing what the party elites instructed him to do, his support for Arlen Specter cost Santorum dearly.
Here perhaps he is being tempted by the party elites again. Let’s hope Rick has learned from his last encounter. If he hasn’t it could cost all of us. Having Mitt’s people robo-call supporters saying Rick supports Romney was pretty low down. Santorum should remember just how sleazy these snakes are.
But it does seem that some are too gleefully willing to blame the largest group of conservatives. I smell a set up. Breaking up the coalition is as effective as supporting Santorum with money. It all works to help Mitt. We should walk away and not take the bait.
While he may be doing the bidding of the beltway establishment, I find his behavior repulsive considering the overall picture and what is at stake. He's no longer seems to be in it to win, but in it to drag down Gingrich as he knows he will not beat Romney in a head to head match regardless of the Iowa results.
I'm very interested to see how he acts towards the remaining contestants once he finally does bow out.
At this point, Santorum and Romney are uninspiring, and I won't even bother to critique Paul the Kook, and regardless of baggage Gingrich is getting voters fired up. That type of reaction is critical and may actually help him keep Romney from getting the nomination.
At this point it really is down to 2 people, Gingrich and Romney. Santorums actions over the next 2 weeks will be very telling concerning his true motives I'm thinking.
I think Romney’s gotten to him first, considering what I saw in Thursday’s debate.
