Also there seemed to be an effort to rehabilitate Romney, who looks weak and desperate. Santorum had a good night because he backed away from the whining--somebody talked to him

Newt didn't hit any grand slams tonight but he got several hits...

Newt, uniquely, needs that audience feedback. It's part of his makeup. I think NBC figured that out and worked out a way to deny Newt the audience response. Perhaps Romney's campaign had a hand in it. If Newt prevails, watch for Obama's campaign to stipulate no audience applause in the debate rules "to keep decorum".

What stinks here, is that in the first 'closed' primary, we still have the Dem media shaping the outcome.
