Incorrect - I do not agree that the government gives us our rights!

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

It is derived by the consent of the governed! Not by the consent our our government....

At that point, yes I agree with your analogy! What the heck are our schools teaching these stupid kids? Glad I taught my kids better.....
