The space and moon idea, although it seems a little nutty, shows me how Romney thinks and what he’s all about. He’s a money guy. He thinks in one dimension. Yes, our country has money problems ...but it also has a problem of the soul — of a lack of creativity, of innovation, of proper and hopeful goals. I remember our country at the time we went to the moon — I was only 5 years old ..but it allowed me to grow up fiercely proud of being an American. To hear Romney tromp all over it and say he’d fire any employee who would propose it almost makes me want to cry.

Lots of Americans had “silly” ideas ...but all incredible American innovations started out as dreams in one way or another ...I’ll stop now, but I feel Romney just has no soul.

Well put. Money problems are one thing. Problems of lacking soul are quite another... and much worse.

Santorum is right on the abortion question. Governor Perry made the same statement last month. More than half of women who are raped choose to carry their babies to term, currently, but the false and illicitly-legal “right to choose” makes it harder for them. The ultimate government interference is to allow licensed and regulated professions to decide who is and who is not human enough to be protected from killing.

Also, I’d bet that Santorum doesn’t bring the subject up, but is quizzed by semi-hostile questioners.

The rest of mylife’s objections, though, show us his bigger government streak, which I don’t like. We don’t need more interference in our lives. We certainly don’t need a President so willing to cross the aisle, and who forgets to come back to our side.

Yes, but can you show that any of the points I made is not true? Unfortunately, it’s “a load of crap” that Newt carries around with him.

I waited for him to talk about his conversion all night. He really blew his chance to talk about turning his life around when he was asked about wives.

Rick Santorum had a tremendous night; he did better than I could have anticipated. He’s looking more and more Presidential to me.

It is a breath of fresh air in a way to depressing state of our country. We NEED something to look forward to and this is it for me!
********************************

I agree!!!

Our finances are in a mess, Obama has run around the world apologizing for the USA, we hear all the time how much China is moving up on us, we see exciting images and stories of all the building going on over in China.

Our schools teach our children America sucks. We all are quite aware of the dire situation this country is in and I think Gingrich is trying to show us there can be bright things to look forward to as well.

Like the quote Santorum used about his wife....
A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words. - Bernard Meltzer

It seems to me Gingrich is singing back that song that he knows is in our heart—the song that we’ve forgotten the words to.

I don’t only want our country out of debt, I want us on top of everything again. I want our pride and dreams back.

I just saw on Thursday that India has fired rockets successfully that have the range to reach all of China’s cities. Maybe we could let India cover our butt there and devote some money to a moon base.

so who got the tickets,
The lady from the county GOP said 3,000 seats were there but only 800 tickets went out.

The establishment yet again pops it;s ugly head and puts their stooges in the room to give RINO Romney the cheers, makes me sick and I will now never vote for that establishment RINO Romney, I;ve just had as my family has

I read a poster on another thread who said he had been told when he tried to get a ticket that the rest of them had gone to and been distributed by the RNC. So that explains the Romney cheering section.

Hes a handsome man

and he smiled a lot..

an easy natural grin..

I think he enjoyed last night...

When you mentioned looking presidential it made me wonder..

Has Rick ever stood right next to the old matinee idol Romney ???

or do they keep them apart so nobody sees the glaring contrast ???

Last might was one of those nights Romney looked real old and haggard

old enough to be Ricks father...

and while Romney drags out every debates “my five sons”

Rick tops him every time with 7 children (he mentioned all 8 last night)

and of course theres the fact that Rick too has been married to just one woman..

and then theres the social issues..Rick is pro-life etc..

Romney must hate Rick with a passion...

If that is a poll number, then no, it means absolutely nothing. Check out all the polls so far in this primary season.

Romney all but confirmed this at the debate last night, when after the debate, the first thing out of his mouth in his private interview was "Did you hear that crowd tonight?"

Set up all the way.

Perry was trashed repeatedly here. When he dropped out and endorsed Newt, suddenly he was everyone’s hero. if Newt implodes, were stuck with Romney. Santorum should stay in as Plan B. He does best when articulating the issue, not trashing the others. He comes across as a childish and petty backstabber.

Actually Newt had some good answers but they really didn’t go to Conservative philosophy question which is where he shines.

I hope he starts talking more about CUTTING GOVERNMENT SPENDING along with the things he wants to do. His message should be more about that and what the AMERICAN PEOPLE can do with LESS GOVERNMENT.

Wacky? Would you have said putting a man on the moon was wacky in the 1960s? This is a frontier nation. Space exploration is something I’m deeply interested in. We used to talk a lot about having bases on the moon when I was growing up and at some point that sense of imagination and exploration sadly fell by the wayside.

Romney doesn’t care about Santorum (who shares a lot of his positions anyway) and hasn’t wasted any time or money on attacking him with the vicious personal attacks he has launched on Gingrich. He doesn’t need to because Santorum is no threat.

Romney has outspent Gingrich by 5-1 in Florida. Also, Santorum’s attacks on Gingrich in SC were pretty nasty and personal also, so I think the two of them tag-team each other.

I agree with you. I haven’t seen Santorum next to Romney in the debates I have seen. Usually they stick him next to his current competitor. For awhile it was Perry, and now it’s Gingrich. As far as Romney hating Santorum, if he didn’t before, I’m sure he does now after Santorum took him to the cleaners on healthcare last night.
