Remember when the History Channel used to be about history?

A local radio talk show host referred to the History Channel as the Hitler Channel. He claimed that every time he'd look they had something about Hitler on it.

Perhaps years ago, it seems Adolph has been replaced by aliens.

Yes, I actually do remember when the History Channel featured History. It was mostly tolerable, on occasion even brilliant. I think they still mostly have such programming on History International.

But that's "Television," always sinking down to the lowest common denominator, in the business of selling an audience to its advertisers. It's an inefficient deliverer of that product and a flawed media, on its eventual way out.

I guess we can all remember when MTV was about Music, too. Now it's "about" trashy, frighteningly ignorant arrested adolescents stupid enough to think they discovered sex.
