Republican establishment gangs up on Newt Gingrich (Bloody Thursday, Drudge...)
Toronto Star ^ | 1/26/12 | Mitch Potter

It has no name yet, but something akin to “Operation: Newtralize” is building into an onslaught against Newt Gingrich’s drive for the presidency.

-snip-

By late Thursday the conservative blogosphere was in open revolt, with right-wing bloggers aiming their fury at Drudge for what many perceived as an attack coordinated with Team Romney.

What was in it for them? Maybe the chance to make the Grand Old Party into the Gay Old Party thanks to the nation’s first governor to preside over state-sanctioned gay marriage.

Drudge: ‘I Do Not Love Sex With Men’

4/6/2009

Drudge has never been said to particularly relish his homosexuality or embrace it; in fact his gay romantic/sexual side has been described (when alleged) as conflicted and awkward.

David Brock, the former right-wing writer, wrote in his memoir Blinded by the Right about a “scary” date in which Drudge, after bringing Brock flowers and navigating the Santa Monica gay strip “like a pro,” stepped on a competing suitor’s foot “really hard” (in Drudge’s purported words) in a nightclub to scare him away from Brock.

Alec Baldwin stated that Drudge made an advance on him in an ABC Studios hallway, a proposition that had “kind of a creepy quality to it.”

Drudge denied he was gay to the Miami New Times in 2001, even as he launched into a disquisition on (as the New Times put it) “the reigning DJ king of gay circuit parties” and summarized his nightlife thusly: “I go to straight bars, I go to gay bars.”

Ann Coulter Named Honorary Chair Of GOProud

“Ann helped put our organization on the map. Politics is full of the meek, the compromising and the apologists – Ann, like GOProud, is the exact opposite of all of those things. We need more Ann Coulters.”

The board includes some other names you may recognize as well: Margaret Hoover, Grover Norquist, Andrew Breitbart, Liz Mair, Chuck Muth, Lisa De Pasquale, Christian Josi, Roger Stone, Andrew Langer, Kathryn Serkes and Bob Carlstrom. Last year, Coulter was a big draw at GOProud’s first-ever Homocon event in New York City.

“Past good service?

Bullcrap.

Drudge attacked one of our own. So did a number of “our side”.

No. Do not forgive anyone.

Redouble the attack. Defeat them.

I'm still perplexed at why Drudge sold out to the GOP establishment. What was in it for him?

A Republican president who actively supports the homosexualist agenda.

For Drudge, that's as good as a bath house.

Let us hope, though probably in vain, that the American voter us wise to the fact that the Establishment owns both parties, and will have it’s way with both of them!

Rick Santorum deserves our attention, interest and support. I am weary of the two top dogs seem to be trained to jump through the hoops of the left on stage night after night. Santorum does not stoop to the trained dog act, and that is so refreshing!

I truly miss the positive attitude that Herman Cain brought with him, where hope came with well thought out plans.....remember my mantra, he was the man with the plan who can.....until the GOP managed to scrap him so meanly. At least they were not throwing him any lifesavers, were they?

out of the four remaining candidates, Rick Santorum is the only man with the dignity. He may have lost his seat in Congress,l but so did Abraham Lincoln!

LOL. The conspiracy aliens must have landed this week and took up residence on FR.

Everyone loved Drudge when he was pimping Lewinky stories and going after scores of democrats. But let him post some Newt stories, and all of a sudden, its a conspiracy.

How about we discuss issues? I want to know what the candidates are going to do about jobs, energy, and the debt.

To me, that means it must be Romney... No conservative could fault him for supporting Newt or Sanctimonium.

After Rush pilloried Romney and his crowd today, how could you possibly think that?

He'll vote for Gingrich or Santorum. No doubt about it.

SOMEBODY PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION FOR ME: If the Matt Drudges and Ann Coulters and Bob Doles of the GOP don’t like Newt, then why do they not get behind Santorum? Why RINO-Rom?

Anybody????

Because they’re only against whoever is the biggest threat to Romney. It was Perry, then Cain, now Newt.

Here's my guess:

As for Matt and Ann, there are literally millions that can be made by being someone (regular popular pundit), or having something (Drudge Report) that can influence an election, if you're willing to whore yourself, or it, out.

As for the the rest, they are the old estabishment rinos supporting the new establishment rinos. Simple as that.

Consequently, none of them have America's interests as their top priority.

Just crazy speculation on my part.

My most sincere wish is to see Drudge go broke over this.

The Republican establish establishment has started a fight that they can not win. They ‘may’ win this battle, but what they have done is unforgivable and they WILL PAY.

GO NEWT GO......this is not just about picking a president, it’s about the very survival of our country!!

Good points

At least there are alternatives to Rush etc

I quit listening to regularly after 97 when I got a computer and internet access

He was good for news you didn’t get from the MSM
But with the internet that I can access when I want etc I didn’t need him for that and I had a lot of gripes with his broadcast content and also with his jumping all around an issue then saying I told you so
His arrogance was also hard to take at times

So then, why didn’t he come out and say so... he and so many others always saying the most important election of our lifetime, and he won’t say who he is voting for... not an endorsement, just a state vote... please tell me what’s going on... because I can’t figure it out... why doesn’t he just say who then, Levin told everyone he is supporting Sanctimonium, supporting, not endorsing...
