While the 8 y/o may not have a high degree of inate intelligence, I feel that your remark is uncalled for.
Sorry I didn’t use whatever the politically correct term might be. The kid was dumber than granite. Still is. He is 13 years older now and in jail at the moment for, essentially, being dumber than schist.
The dictionary of Politically Correct Writing changes too often and I don’t keep up with it.
