Jan Brewer tarmac tiff touches nerve in black community, some commentators say [for dissing Zero]

Reaction to the Jan Brewer encounter is still bubbling, with some black commentators now suggesting the image of the Arizona governor wagging her finger at the President of the United States has touched a nerve in the African American community.

On MSNBC Thursday, Al Sharpton posited that Brewer's treatment of President Obama was another example of disrespect in a list of many for the nation's first black president. His guest, Sirius XM host Joe Madison, said such incidents show that there are people "who cannot stand the fact that this is an African-American who is now one of the most powerful individuals on the planet," Mediaite reported.

An NAACP official went a few steps further in an interview with POLITICO Friday, saying the tiff played on age-old and discriminatory stereotypes of whites being superior to blacks. Hilary O. Shelton, senior vice president for advocacy and policy at the NAACP, said he was particularly disturbed by Brewer telling reporters afterward that she "felt a bit threatened if you will, in the attitude that he had."

"What were you afraid he would do, steal your purse?" Shelton said.

Democrats see everything as a function of race. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be Democrats.

The DNC is the party of race obsession. If you see the world through the prism of race, you belong in the DNC. If you don’t, you are probably either a Republican already, or you are headed our way. Come on in, the water’s fine.

When Black Americans supported Obama, enmasse back in 2008, I told them on this very site, they would come to rue the day they got behind this “flim/flam” man, Barack Hussein Obama!!! Now......Blacks are hurting big time across the board, and...things are still getting worse!!! However, if they choose to hang in there with Obama, that is their choice!!! You can lead a horse to water, but...you cannot make him drink!!! I can assure you, the well being of Black Americans lies no where in the heart, mind and soul of POTUS OBAMA!!! The only thing Obama, the CBC, The Democrat Party want from Black Americans is their vote!!! End of story!!!

I expected more noise from them when Hispanics passed them in number 10 years earlier than projected (in 2000 instead of 2010); it was all over the news, and certainly will cost the Congressional Black Caucus some seats, but they didn’t say anything at all. As they fade to the obscurity of Native Americans, I guess we’ll just see their “leaders” on TV as though nothing has changed. Here in NJ an increasing number of officeholders are Hispanic, in positions formerly held by blacks - and it is happening in colleges, the workplace, the drug trade, everywhere.

Personally, I don’t believe for a bit that he is the blood son of his supposed African father. I expect he’s an American red-diaper baby through and through.

But yes, by modern parlance, he’s clearly at least partially ‘black’.

These people are getting as thin skinned as the muzzies. Plus always taking the opportunity to play a race card.

The wisest thing I was ever told was this... Q: "How do you know you are winning an argument on facts with a Liberal? A: YOU RACIST!"

Let me help you 50sDad, you are winning the argument when they call you any or all of these:

racist, sextist, homophobic, xenoophobic, fascist, wing-nut, killer-of-baby-harp-seals

Barack Obama has taught me, or, maybe it is what I have learned about myself, perhaps it is because Barack Obama is a black man who is in the public eye, I know, in my heart, I have learned something very valuable and important about myself.

My opinion of a person is created by 3 things and it is
not the shape of their eyes, not a person height, not the color of their skin, not the part of the world they came from —— What is important to me, is.....

1. what is in a person's head ...
2. what is in a person's heart ...
3. and what comes out that person's mouth ...

That is how my opinion is formed. (I did not say ‘judged’ - but that is what it really is..)

“touched a nerve in the African American community.”

So where is the “African American community”? Does it have it's own zip code??

What is the “African American community”?? Maybe it's a country somewhere??

There is only one nation here, and all citizens are Americans.

Jan Brewer is the governor of Arizona, Obama is president of the United States until January.. There is no “African American community” in the borders of the US; so these people complaining have nothing to do with our nation and no standing.

Let them complain within the borders of the “African American community”, or at the UN.
