Well said. Unfortunately...I hold stock in that bastard coffee company. And my money manager hates homos more than I do. What a quandary.
It’s easy for me to say but I’d sell. I don’t want to make money on companies that categorically promote evil. You can’t take it with you.
I wouldn’t divest for every little thing. For example if one Wal-Mart pretty obviously was racist, I’d keep Wal-Mart stock assuming the company as a whole wasn’t like that and took reasonable steps to correct the problem. Or if the manager at my local Starbucks was gay and promoted gay stuff, I may not shop THERE, but, I’d keep my stock.
However the whole company is officially promoting it. I’d sell.
