EXCERPT

“I don’t know if you have ever told Longfellow’s nursery rhyme to your 4-year-old daughter, Alice,” Will said to Tapper, reciting:

There is a little girl Who had a little curl Right in the middle of her forehead, When she was good, She was very good indeed, When she was bad, She was horrid.

“We’re at the horrid stage with Newt Gingrich,” Will concluded.

There once was a man named George Will
With wits not as sharp as his quill
At Newt he would pen
Words of venom and then
Nothing more was ‘ere heard of him still.

Once I had a thrill
To hear the measured tones of George Will
Parry the liberal hysterics

Now I am repelled
By Will’s thin doggerel
And the cocktail party bonhomie of right-wing “mavericks”.

George Will: ‘We’re at the horrid stage with Newt Gingrich’

George Will is in good company of those demonizing Gingrich, such as former president Dole and former president McCain.....................

Unfortunately Newt is proving the naysayers correct over the last week or so with these recent examples of a lack discipline and/or judgement. Whether Romney is a “manical” liar or not, the fact that he used the word “manical” in describing Romney was just plain stupid. One thing I learned a long time ago is that what someone says about someone else frequently says much more about the person talking than the person they are talking about. Given the widely discussed criticisms of Newt, one would think Newt could summon up the discipline necessary to avoid clearly inflammatory language that makes him appear petulant.

And then there is the moon colonization fiasco. You have got to be kidding me.

We’ve got big problems - maybe the GA eligibility case will get some legs and turn into something positive, but I think that is a longshot.

They supported Crist and Murkowski over solid TEA alternatives.

Don't forget THEIR support for Dede Scuzzafava!

If we're lucky Newt will realize he can't posssibly win and drop out over FL. That will leave enough time for conservatives to unite behind Rick Santorum and nominate a conservative.

The K Street gravey train must continue...it will under Obama/Romney...Newt might try and change the game...can’t have that.

Oh for goodness sake! Newt's the biggest gravy slurper there is! Santorum is the only hope for a conservative victory in November.

George Will is still aconservative. Newt is a bad, bad candidate.

Look...he went into FL less than 2 weeks a ago a prohibitive favorite and now is down 12 points or more. And it is entirely HIS fault. We should thank God for the FL primary...it's shown us just what a horrid candidate Newt would be in the Fall!

Santorum needs to get out and endorse Newt so that Romney can be dealt with.

Newt has more money and organization which you need to beat the Romney machine.

Santorum has none of either right now.
