EXCERPT

“I don’t know if you have ever told Longfellow’s nursery rhyme to your 4-year-old daughter, Alice,” Will said to Tapper, reciting:

There is a little girl Who had a little curl Right in the middle of her forehead, When she was good, She was very good indeed, When she was bad, She was horrid.

“We’re at the horrid stage with Newt Gingrich,” Will concluded.

Will has always been horrid to look at, now it’s horrid to listen to or read anything he writes. What an establishment snob!

Why is it that people willingly choose to ignore Santorum’s role in playing party politics and supported the old comic Spector? Anyone remember what role Spector played getting ObamaCare passed.....? I was just as ticked over the support of Dede as anyone else, but I am not willing to ignore reality and pretend like Santorum is a saint. He played party politics and look what ‘we the people’ received. Anybody heard any apologies from Santorum for paving the road to BamBamKennedy ‘death-care’. NO he puffs himself up as if he is the only ‘pro-life’ conservative... ha!!!

Oh, come now. It's just a matter of style:

All-time popular-at-FR Victor Davis Hanson "there is very little actual difference between the two [Romney & Gingrich] candidates at all (which might, counterintuitively, explain the animus: personal characteristics, style, comportment, class, and background instead are the main differences between the candidates, hence the clumsily dubbed “Tea Party vs. Country Club” rivalry).

I’d rather have dinner with the Obamas than have a beer with George Will

Santorum isn’t my choice. To me, he comes across as a little odd. And interesting concept,, that a guy who doubles Santorum in the polls, should drop out and endorse the one who just survives a few points above Paul.
The obvious answer of course, is that Santorum should drop out and throw his support to Newt.

If we’re lucky Newt will realize he can’t posssibly win and drop out over FL. That will leave enough time for conservatives to unite behind Rick Santorum and nominate a conservative.”

And another Santorum vulture flies to his branch.

The only difference between you guys and Romney’s crew is that you only cheer for him under your breath.

Columnist George Will’s wife, Mari Maseng, has offered her services as an adviser to three candidates this election season.

In addition to her current work for the Perry campaign and her earlier work for the Bachmann campaign, a source knowledgeable of the situation tells us that Maseng sought out a role with the Romney campaign in June.

On June 28, Maseng went to Boston and met with multiple, “high-level officials” in the Romney campaign about joining on as an adviser. No formal offer was ever made, according to the source.

Funny how petulant and horrid Newt brought tears to the eyes of those who watched his speech last night. How long has it been since a man or woman inspired such pride and hope for our country? I guess that same quality is in Sarah. For a man who had received the onslaught of dirty tricks and lies that he has to sit with Greta on his bus and discuss calmly and confidently his campaign and his hope for our future shows us the mettle of the man.

I hated Newt for years for betraying us, but I’m telling you, he has all the right enemies.

I never hated Newt because I didn't think he betrayed us. It was the linguine spine GOP congressmen who betrayed Newt. They are the ones who got weak knees in the Clinton government shutdown, fearing for their seats in the next election. That phobia is still at work in DC and it will continue until we convince the politicians to fear the conservative base more than they do the media and liberal factions. And that "ain't gonna happen" if we cave each general election and vote for the GOP elite's chosen moderate acceptable candidate. They don't support us, why should we support them?

"There once was a man named George Will ..."

Who tryed to climb the hill.
Newt gave him a frown
and Will went tumbling down
and now he has a broken crown.

I disagree with that completely. Newt has his warts, not doubt. Sitting on the couch with Pelosi, for example.

But what Newt is not is a parser who sits and gives canned answers, and then when he wins goes on to capitulate to the Dems at every turn.

THAT is what you get with Romney. It doesn’t matter what he says, in the end you get what get with people like Boner and McConnell and McCain. So desperate to make a deal and compromise and sound civil and look bipartisan that you sell everything down the river while the Dems lick their chops for more.

Newt has many very positive qualities, and that speech is a good example. But he is also unpredictable and undisciplined. The question is whether a man with both his positive and negative attributes can win the election.

“Oh for goodness sake! Newt's the biggest gravy slurper there is! Santorum is the only hope for a conservative victory in November.”

Santorum has about as much chance as nutball Paul, zero to none.

The problem with dreams is that you have to wake up at some point. Time for you to wake up to reality.

Bulls-eye. If Newt changes his mind or does what you don't like, you won't be in the dark about it. He'll let you know. Will prefers closeted power that comes across as nice. Basically that's what you get with Obama.

Whoever is nominated, we have to use them to defeat Hussein. I’ll take a Republican House, Senate, and White House over this executive order communist any day.
