NAPLES, Fla.) -- Mitt Romney, offering GOP rival Newt Gingrich an analysis of his drop in support in the Sunshine State, suggested that the former speaker look in the mirror when weighing why he may not been resonating with Floridians just two days before the states primary.
[Gingrich is] now finding excuses everywhere he can, said Romney, speaking at an outdoor theater in Naples, where more than 1,000 people came to hear him speak. Hes on TV this morning going from station to station complaining about what he thinks were the reasons he thinks hes had difficulty here in Florida but you know, weve got a president who has a lot of excuses, and the excuses are over, its time to produce.
If we failed somewhere, if we failed the debate, if we failed to get the support of people, its time to look in the mirror, said Romney. And my own view is the reason that Speaker Gingrich has been having a hard time in Florida is that people of Florida have watched the debates, have listened to the speaker, have listened to the other candidates and have said, You know what, Mitt Romneys the guy were going to support.
A new NBC/Marist poll of Florida republicans released Sunday morning shows Romney at a distinct advantage over Gingrich.
The poll shows Romney receiving 42 percent of support in likely voters and Gingrich at 27 percent.
Romney expanded his attacks on Gingrichs ties to the housing crisiswhich Romney has said repeatedly the former speaker should have warned the American public of during his time consulting for Freddie Mac.
I know how bad housing is here, how tough its been. You know one quarter of all the foreclosures in America are in Florida. And you know how much home values have come down, Romney said. And one of the greatest contributors to the collapse of housing here and across the country was governmentand the intrusion of Government into the housing market and the fact that you had Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae guaranteeing mortgages in some cases to people who couldnt possibly pay them back, that contributed to the kind of crises you see here.
Repeating his criticism of Gingrich from earlier in the week in which he compared the former speaker to Goldilocks due to his back and forth about whether he wanted a loud audience or a quiet audience in the debate halls, Romney discounted the debate crowds as a reason for Gingrichs slip in support.
So, Mr. Speaker, your trouble in Florida is not because the audience is too quiet or too loud, or because you have opponents that are tough, said Romney. Your problem in Florida is that you worked for Freddie Mac at a time that Freddie Mac was not doing the right thing for the American people. And that youre selling influence in Washington at a time when we need people who will stand up for the truth in Washington.
You bet. Slick Willard will fit in nicely for their class warfare. I already read an article that he’d be the richest nominee for president that there has ever been.
I will not vote for Romney, even against Obama.
Just a hint to all candidates: What’s needed in the housing market is not a post-mortem on the collapse, but a substantive plan to restore confidence in the housing market. Quit trying to tell me that electing you will turn everything to sunshine and roses. Tell me what you will DO, and not what your opponent has DONE (whether it’s true or not).
Nevermind.
Did my own search. Here you go.

Can we vote for his new advisor? ;-)
Like I said earlier—it is a huge difference to attract 1,000 people vs 6,000 people.
“Former House Speaker and republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich speaks at Cambier Park on January 24, 2012 in Naples, Fla. A crowd of about 6,000 showed up to support Gingrich and his presidential campaign. Organizers said it was the largest crowd ever gathered at the park.”

Well, if he’s endorsed by John McCain.....there’s a winner.
I will not vote for Romney EVER, umder any circumstances.
I will not vote for Romney EVER, umder any circumstances.
Bob Dole says don’t forget Bob Dole.
If the GOP elites succeed in nominating Mitt Romney, then we move forward with an official tea party candidate to run against Obama and Romney this November. This is not the time become timid.
The South Park Mormons theme song is” Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb.....Dumb”.
Mormons are a CULT plain and Simple, no differant than Scientology.

This will be such a tragic comedy if Mitt gets the GOP nomination. The same people who did the “scorched earth” policy will then try to sweet talk us into unity. When the Obama/MSM goes into full kill mode the GOP will beg, cajole, plead and make countless excuses.
The GOP surrogates (Beck, Drudge, Coulter, Ingraham, etc) will attempt to rally the flag and whore themselves out again. In the end, when MITT DOES LOSE, they will make excuse after excuse and blame the conservative base, the Tea Parties and Palin.
To the folks who bought into the “Romney is the most electable” myth, I’ll just sit back and watch them squirm as they justify their vote. I’ll just laugh and call them a bunch of gullible suckers (there are several in my area that come to mind). It’s a TEACHABLE MOMENT.
Then I’ll mentally pound them as I dissect their pitiful reasoning and tell them that they got PAWNED by another MSM/GOP establishment propaganda campaign.
The GOP hacks will simply not learn. After 2012, they’ll just reload with Jeb Bush or Mitch Daniells.
It’s not so much that Romney is beating Gingrich, it’s that Gingrich is beating himself by appearing to be a vindictive, sniping, little snot. He’s showing the character that made the rest of Congress dislike him.
And that the degenerate Mormon High Priest will do better than the 31% he got in 2008, before people knew what he really was.
Make no mistake about it, the only house this turd is going is to the Out House, never the White House.
In the extremely unlikely event that he should buy his way to the Republican nomination, then it's our job to make sure he loses.
Better off letting the communists own the collapse and coming back in 4 years.
If it takes a third party candidate to make sure he loses to HUSSEIN, then that is just fine.
Anybody catch Ingrahm on the Roundtable today? She was almost giddy the establishment was crushing Gingrich. To complain about being outspent 5-1 or more is proof you are losing.
This primary is showing us who are friends and enemies are.
Pray for Newt
Well, much as the country club Democrats would like everyone to believe, it’s not Wednesday yet.
