No Room for Allen West- or You- in Romney’s GOP
Townhall ^ | January 29, 2012 | John Ransom

Get ready for the all new GOP, under the lead of Mitt Romney.

It’s a GOP where the Tea Party won’t be welcome, where the federal government will continue to bailout out banks and unions and everyone who’s anyone will continue to make money- except of course you and me.

We’ll just continue to get stuck with the 100 year mortgage payment, as the GOP continues to be the “tax collector for the welfare state,” in the WSJ’s apt phrase.

That’s the takeaway from Florida where Florida Representative Will Weatherford, a Romney proxy, helped redistrict Tea Party favorite Congressman and retired Col. Allen West into a much more liberal district than he previously represented.

I guess Tea Party ideas of limited government and fiscal responsibility aren't wanted in the GOP under Mitt.

News today: Goldman Sachs a big supporter of Romney. Seems to me there has been a direct conduit from that organization to the government for some time now. Follow the money.

It’s a GOP where the Tea Party won’t be welcome,

To paraphrase Roger Daltrey, "Yyyyyyyyyyeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!! Meet the new GOP! Same as the old GOP!"

Dang. Now I gotta hear the whole song. If anybody else feels the urge, here's the link....

” - - - The Tea Party’s misconception is that the GOP holds the same desire and beliefs as themselves.”

The “TEA Party” is the direct descendant of the “Silent Majority.”

The purpose of the GOP is to win elections.

The purpose of the TEA Party is to reduce Federal spending, taxes, regulations and size of the US Federal Government.

The reason the TEA Party came into existence was due to the failure of the GOP to Stand and Deliver against the Jack-Boot Heel of the Socialist Obamanator.

If the GOP chooses Romney as their nominee, the line in the sand will then be drawn between the BIG Government SOS of the GOP and the small government plans of those of us who are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY.

Sen. McCain Nomination in 2008 forever severed any hope of working with the GOP in reducing the size of Federal control over the lives of us or our grandchildren.

GAME ON!

Goldman Sachs is well known over here as the worst sort of vulture capitalist business.

Not surprised they’d be keeping company.

“got that right did you see FOX this morning?
Perfect example was shown this morning of the elitist telling us to shut up we’re too dumb to pick a candidate and we should just do what we’re told...”

Just to satisfy my curiosity, would you mind going into more detail about what you saw on Fox this morning? I can’t bring myself to turn it on right now. Even when I’m listening to Rush and the Fox news breaks come on every half hour, it’s Mitt, Mitt, Mitt all the time. I can’t take it.

Yes They had a Dem and a Bush talking head on by the name of Dee Dee. She was giving the usual attacks against Newt when one of the panel asked her why they see Romney as the insider. She then went into baby mode and said" Newt should be called disco Newt as he has been there for so long' She then went onto say newt shops at Tiffanys, Newt will never beat obama , Newt will never get the nomination and Romney is a great candidate because he was a business man. The Dem then got in there and laughed and said you honestly think Romney can beat obama , Romney cannot even relate to the average person and has been all over te map with the issues. The Bush talking head kept attacking Newt saying Newt is not a good candidate. Meaning now we're all dumb SC voters got it wrong, we all have to shut up and do what the establishment says to do as they know better and those if us who want Newt are too dumb and we need to shut up. I was disgusted that FOX will never come on my TV again

Thank you. I’m pretty much at that point myself. FR has become my go-to news site.

Some of the Democrats are letting their masks slip and admitting that they know Romney is a loser, but apparently nothing is enough to convince the true Mittbots. If they think they’re going to shove that wicked, loathsome man down my throat, they better think again. I am having none of it. I’ll just write in Rick Perry.

I’m arguing with a mittbot now named kickonly88.

Seems the Romneybotts are coming on here saying we ave to vote for Romney because we can;t afford obama for 4 more years and the bleeding has to stop.
They started the bleeding and now they have done their dirty work and taken out another conservatives they tell us to forget it, to get behind their guy and reunite against the Dems
NOT A CHANCE

How surprising the establishment does the attacks, then once they have done the damage they come on sites like this telling us to forget that and we should vote for their guy.

I’ll be expecting more and more of this kind of dirty tactics from them in the future

If these idiots had a single grain of common sense. they’d be able to see that Romney basically IS Obama! Policy-wise, he’s always been, and he’s about as gutless and weak. Now I see firsthand that he is also as immoral.

Mrkickonly88 will likely not last long here.

"That’s why I support the candidate who has most of it right — Ron Paul. He is the only candidate who advocates an aggressive approach to the disastrous overspending in Washington. The media completely ignores him. That should tell you something. Most of you dismiss him out of hand without reading what the man has to say. In this you are in full agreement with the Alinskyites."

I support Gingrich & Ron Paul is NOT the only candidate who advocates an aggressive approach to the disastrous overspending in Washington.

I've listened to & read everything available about what Ron Paul stands for & do not fully support his views on national security. Without a safe country - it doesn't matter much what Washington does!!

I totally resent you saying that I am in full agreement with the Alinskyites. An apology would be in order to me & all the conservatives who do not agree with you.

The greatest threat to our natioal security is not a foreign country, but the people who run this country. The two party system is really one party, and the interests of this country and you and me are the last things they consider. Drain the swamp!

Could be, but there are other factors. Palm Beach County and Broward County were 61% and 67% for Obama last time, so it may be hard to come up with any district that's not heavily Democrat.

The other factor is that the legislators wanted to create safe seats for other GOP Congressmen with more seniority (Posey and Rooney are names that have been mentioned), so they pulled Republican areas away from West and gave them to the other Republicans. Making the other districts stronger made West's weaker.

The other Congressmen were in politics longer and have made more alliances with the legislators, so they were less vulnerable to redistricting than Allen West. That's unfortunate, but it's how politics work.
