If you don't vote for Gerald Ford, you are voting for... Jimmy Carter
If you don't vote for Bob Dole, you are voting for...
Bill Clinton
If you don't vote for John McCain, you are voting for...
Barack Hussein Obama
I understand where you were trying to go and didn't have any love for any of those Republican candidates mentioned. But your post made the opposite point. You asked for it. :-)

That would make a pretty good graphic for .... a 3rd party down the road (?)

I took it to mean that if you voted for the GOP-e pick, the democrat won anyway. In other words, there was nothing gained by holding your nose. Same will happen this time, so I will not vote for another loser moderate/liberal.

You asked for it. :-) I didn't ask for anything. I KNEW the answers (duh!). My point is that I'm sick of the same argument time after time.
And frankly, this one is the worst because at least Ford, Dole and McCain could be called moderates. Willard is a liberal. A liberal I will NEVER vote for.
So to all of those who the establishment can count on by using the same tired fear mongering, good for you. I won't be joining you this election cycle. By hook or by crook I will be voting for a conservative, be it write-in or third party. I changed my affiliation to Independent more than five years ago, so no party has their claim on me. :-)
