Hope for the best. Hey, does anyone know if Palin actually officially came out and endorsed Newt yet? If not, does anyone know what she's waing for?

There was speculation for a while there that maybe Santorum and/or Paul would give up and endorse Newt. Looks like Santorum's in it for the long haul. That's too bad - I don't see how he can possibly win and he's helping Romney because a vote for Santorum is a vote for Romney. I wish more people here understood that.

If anybody who actually works for the party can explain these rules, I would sure appreciate it.

At one point I read that the Party passed rules that you couldn’t do winner-take-all primaries early - before some date I forget. The penalty is to lose half your delegates.

But then I read other things that conflict with this. Surely it wasn’t JUST DISCOVERED that FL should have been proportional? Why are these rules so arcane?

More evidence that Newt is an entrenched politician all of the way thru. I will never understand why the establishment loves him so.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus warned Florida Republican Party Chairman Lenny Curry of the violation in a December letter quoting the rule, “…’winner-take-all’ states cannot hold a primary or caucus before April 1, 2012.”

The answer to following the rules wouldn't be a proportional distribution of delegates, but a voiding of the results unless, prior to the primary, Florida had already had it on the books that it was no longer a 'winner-take-all' state.

Not one of my favorite tactics, changing the rules after the game starts.

It’s bad enough when the other side does this, but now we stoop to the same?
