"Bain Capital Founder Robert Gay, who was also a General Authority for the Mormon Church..."

... they sure do take care of their own.

If Obama had done something like this, they’d have made a movie about it by now. Also, any of us who had liberal friends would have gotten it in our in-box a zillion times.

Well, it’s actually nice to read that when no one is watching he takes charge and maybe saved a life.

Exactly.
This is an indication of precisely those qualities that a good crisis-managing executive needs. I don’t doubt Romney has them. If we had a war to run, he’s probably our man.

Whatever complaints many of us have about him, he is a talented man with abilities far above that of the incumbent.
And also beyond our complaints he is apparently a gentleman of unimpeachable character and temperament.

He does not deserve the contempt he receives here and elsewhere.

The problems with him closing the deal are cultural and ideological. We can disagree with this man without rancor.

“Romney took immediate action...”

By making sure abortions could be had for $50.00

Good for him, very nice. He’s still a loathsome liberal who will never get my vote.

For anyone who might be interested, Mark Levin just let fly with a brilliant, shouting rant against Romney, in his second hour. I think you can download it from his site.

She must not have been poor.

Because Romney is not concerned with the very poor.

Crisis management and organizational skills that the incumbent doesn’t have a lick of.

It appears everyone is commenting w/o reading the story.

There are significant exaggerations regarding Romney's degree of participation. Other execs of the Boston office of Bain helped organize the search; not just Romney. Only the Boston office closed down; not the massive shutdown described nor were any execs “flown in” to participate. There were 200 volunteers searching who were not Bain Capital employees; although Bain employees apparently were able to convince them to help. The boy who recognized the girl on TV called the NJ police 911 and told them where to pick up the girl which they did (no mention of him rapidly hanging up or any involvement of the NYC Police having to trace the call). The girl was not in any danger of losing her life; family physician verified she was in relatively good condition although she had taken ecstasy. Read the fact check summary and you will find Mitt is far less heroic than the story implies

Fact check rated it as true; because central elements appear factual; Romney was involved; the Boston office of Bain did close down; the girl did go missing (She had lied to her parents and said she was going to play tennis.); she did take ecstasy. On a scale of truthfulness I would give it a 65% at best and call it “significantly exaggerated.” Some Bain PR flak likely wrote the account.

I am not enjoying the meanness around FR. Romney seems be a good man, bright, able to run things, decent character. I don’t know why he’s a republican but he’s a good person and strong candidate. My liberal friends and relatives seem to like him. They voted for Obama last time.

Now, mitt is not for me, because I don’t trust his “conservatism,” with good reason. But in the primary last time I did vote for the man over John McCain. That was the choice I had in the ca primary.

I wish everyone could get behind Santorum.

“he is apparently a gentleman of unimpeachable character and temperament”

I agree so much!

Who can impeach a man’s character who lies, deceives, supports gay marriage and is responsible for helping kill babies for $50 a pop?

That is a man of character. That he does it with such smoothness speaks to his temperament too.

Faster than a speeding bullet.
More powerful than a locomotive.
Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.

Look!
Up in the sky!
It’s a bird.
It’s a plane.
It’s Superman!

Yes, it’s Superman-
strange visitor from another planet who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men.

Superman-
who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel with his bare hands, and who, disguised as Clark Kent, mild mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper, fights the never ending battle for Truth, Justice and the American Way.

I call bullshit on all of this.

According to FOX, his fundraising has tripled since Rush said that he’s the only one in the race who hasn’t committed any great transgressions against conservatives.

I read it.

The original is a CHAIN E-MAIL!

Hence my IBTZ...

It appears the Romneybots are now resorting to chain e-mails to promote their liberal boy.

He was the boss. They were on salary. He gave them a job to do. He was within his rights to ask them to work on this.

Unless the Board or the partnership agreement gave him the unfettered right to shut down the firm to search for a missing girl, he wasn't within his rights. He didn't own Bain, so he wasn't "the boss." The people he sent included partners - they weren't on salary, they were on a draw based on income of Bain, which took a hit because they were looking for a missing girl.

The missing girl was the daughter of one of his church's General Authorities (he was also a partner at Bain).

Is it a good thing to look for a missing girl? Yes. Did he look for just any missing girl? Nope. He didn't have 100% control of Bain and I'll bet you my house Romney didn't have the authority to shut down Bain and send all of the employees off to hunt this girl.

Now, by saying that, I'm glad the girl was found. But Your statement about him being within his rights? About everyone he sent being on salary? About him being the "boss." Nope.
