Army Gives General the Boot
Washington Update - Email | Feb 2, 2012 | Tony Perkins

Posted on 02/02/2012 4:46:10 PM PST by Iam1ru1-2

Lieutenant General William Boykin has stared cowards in the face before, and he won't hesitate to do so now. Not even when the same Army he served is trying to take away the freedom he fought to protect. Boykin, an outspoken Christian and Delta Force hero, had been looking forward to speaking at the West Point Prayer Breakfast since the Academy invited him. In the days leading up to the event, the General Boykin settled on a topic: the importance of leaders seeking God. But it was a speech he never got to deliver. The Academy withdrew the invitation when a handful of atheist and Muslim cadets complained about Boykin's beliefs. The message to this elite, three-star warrior was obvious: you and your faith aren't welcome.

In an op-ed defending Boykin, FRC's Ken Blackwell and Ken Klukowski explain that "As a private citizen retired from the Army, General Boykin has cast America 's war against radical Islamic terrorists as fighting Satan... Evidently it's not politically correct to suggest that blowing up children is the devil's work." And while the Academy was desperate to distance itself from Boykin's faith, it hasn't budged from comments made by his Muslim detractors. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) not only called Boykin an "Islamaphobe" but compared his views to the KKK's. "It was an ecumenical presentation," Boykin said about his speech. "It had nothing to do with Islam." But even he sees the writing on the wall. "People of faith and conservative Americans are losing our voice to a very well-organized and very well-funded group of passionate people--those being the atheists and Muslims. They want to change the nature of our culture--and they're succeeding."

Unfortunately, this is part of the long shadow cast on religious freedom by the Obama administration. In three years, the White House has created an environment where hostility toward orthodox Christianity is not only tolerated, but encouraged. Franklin Graham was a target. So was I. We were all disinvited from military events for the same reason: because we live and embrace our faith. By censoring these leaders, the military is depriving young soldiers of the wisdom of a highly decorated veteran. General Boykin could have helped these cadets as they wrestle with how to integrate their beliefs with military service. Instead, the Academy is suggesting to these young soldiers that living out their faith proudly is a barrier to advancement.

Is that what our country wants--a nation of one-dimensional warriors with no moral compass? Of course not. That's why this march to obliterate faith is as dangerous as it is offensive. General Boykin survived being shot by a .50-caliber gun, and he will survive this. What concerns him, and what should concern all of us, is not whether Christianity will endure--but whether our freedom to practice it will. Without it, what would these cadets be fighting for?

It has been building for a while, but the Obama administration has pulled out all the stops, and it is now practically a crime to be a Christian. Just look what the bastard is forcing on Catholics with the demand that Catholic institutions turn against their basic beliefs and provide abortion and contraceptives without exception, and if they don’t they will be subject to criminal charges, fines, and imprisonment.

We are on the cusp of collapse as a nation and as a culture.

Was there supposed to be a link to more?

Reminds me that I forgot to plug the Chaplain Corps in my 10.

It is a perilous time for the Chaplain Corps. They will have to carefully weigh opportunity to minister against the constraints this new humanist religion the government is imposing on the military.

The real question for Christians is this: “Are we willing to send non-military missionaries to any battlefield the US military occupies so we can minister to troops as opportunity is found?”

The question the military has to answer is: “Are they willing for the powerful force of religion to be placed in the hands of lay preachers who arise in the ranks?”

When death is a real prospect, REAL religion becomes a REAL issue. Revivals happen when death is a REAL possibility. Does the military want USSR political officers in their battalions, or do they want REAL representatives of America's REAL religious denominations and faiths?

Muslim cadets - can we say terrorist embeds? Rome had the most skilled and advanced military, but when the Empire brought in many barbarians to bulk up the legions, it taught them the same skills to take back to their tribes, tribes that then overran the Empire.

This post was the “more” on LTG Boykin. One of them had sent me an article yesterday on this dispicable action of West Point.

A friend of mine e-mailed me this comment in relation to the latest HHS regulation forcing Catholic and other religious institutions to provide free contraceptives to employees or face fines (see articles on Obamacare insurance mandate)

In effect, Obama, et al., are telling Christians in general that all social programs must be secular. If you are of a religious bent and want to do social work, you must chuck your religious beliefs and do what the state mandates, period. This was the same policy the Roman Empire employed. You could follow your own beliefs as long as you also burned incense before a bust of the emperor as God.

"The soldier, above all other men, is required to practice the greatest act of religious training -- sacrifice."

"In battle and in the face of danger and death, he discloses those divine attributes which his Maker gave when he created man in his own image. No physical courage and no brute instinct can take the place of the Divine help which alone can sustain him."

Anyone with half an ounce of sense has gotta be wondering the very same thing.

I hope not to live long enough to see our Nation go completely down the tubes ...
but each passing day makes me think I'd better hurry.

Gone are the days I believed that the US Military wouldn’t turn on American citizens.

This isn’t the military we used to know.

Pat Buchanan’s new book is about the suicide of America due to things like “cultural diversity”, illegal “immigration”, and similar things.. It’s both sad and sickening.

And this latest turn with Romney and rejection of Newt is SO discouraging. I will most certainly vote against BHO and urge everyone here to do the same. Anyone who won’t does not get how really evil BHO’s intentions are, along with his fellow traitors. So we MUST get him and them out. I support and pray for Newt and believe he’s the only one who can stand up against BHO and withstand the mud they’ll sling at him.

Regardless, our efforts need to go to regaining the Senate and increasing the House, in a big way. Seems like our best safeguard no matter what. And if we can get rid of BHO we buy ourselves and the country some time

This is what I meant in a prior post about BHO being evil and so dangerous. If ALL of us don’t vote against this America-hating Muslim who’s out to destroy us, then we’re doomed for sure. Even if the worst Repub (Romney) ends up winning, we buy the country time - particularly if we can get enough decent ones into both houses of Congress.

I just don’t believe Romney can beat BHO - that’s the problem. Newt needs our support and $$$. He will do what he says he will. He intends to make history in a big way.

How do you propose we best go about that? A big problem is that most of the public doesn’t even hear these stories so they’re unaware, and those of us who are sound like paranoid nuts.

So, really - what can we effectively do? I’m extremely concerned about this stealth jihad being perpetrated on our country.

Islamic immigration. We went from being a country with no Muslims to one where our politically correct rulers cater to them.

the military elite are sadly bamey boys...or clintoon boys....

the military is highly political....those young officers that Clintoon appointed are finally up in rank after bowing down to the leftist govt and they are going to support every insanity that bamey demands...

do not trust the military....do not trust the police...

Interesting. I have pondering the End Times lately...shouldn’t we all? The Book of The Revelation seems to indicate a national downgrade...the heyday of the United States may go down hill fast or slow...but I believe a time will come for that?

The answer to your question in my humble opinion is to run for office.

Unless we get people elected who are motivated to return the country to its Constitutional roots all will be lost.

Its clear that the majority in office have little interest in that.
