I don't often agree with Peggy Noonan (not anymore, anyway) but she's right about the "narrative thingy". It's a Democrat thing and conservatives look silly doing it.

She was Cathy McMorris when first elected to Congress; I'm surprised as an expert that you never noticed her name either in a roll call or as one of a select number of open seat races when first elected, or as a member of the House leadership team, or while being periodically highlighted by the SBA List or other groups as one of Congress's pro-life women.
The RNC can have secretly constructed a biomedical clone of Reagan to run as VP with Romney, and it still won’t make me interested in voting for Romney.
I cannot be expected to memorize each Congressman's voting record, surely. As it turns out, my recollection has been born out as accurate by other respondents: she's generally conservative but, like most Congresscritters, certainly not without fault.
Unlike the FReeper I criticized as ignorant, I don't claim to know everything worth knowing, and so left the specific commentary to her constituents, who know her best.
This sounds like a tactic by the elites to pick an non-entity whom they can control and who will not be a threat to their plans for whomever is “next in line” for the GOP nomination 4 or 8 years hence.
(I'm thinking this will probably be Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio if Romney fails ...and, before someone asks, I am definitely NOT a Bush fan and Rubio showed his true colors in FL last week! Of course, this same strategy applies to whomever the elites have in store to foist on us in 2016 and 2020 ad infinitum. Unfortunately, they will always be in control; since most will likely continue to be frightened into voting for big government liberals of the Republican stripe.)

Not to compare her to Palin but that is exact same thing people said about her before she was chosen. I and other political junkie freepers were talking her up for the role before 95% of freepers outside of Alaska had heard of her. And low and behold.
The point being don’t count out a VP candidate cause you haven’t heard of them, some of us that are more engaged have. After they are chosen they all get 100% name recognition, if a candidate has a good record and story that offsets them being lesser known. Dozens and dozens of names will be suggested, this lady is as worthy as any of a mention. I hope she runs for Senate in the future.
If Romney wins he should pick Gingrich. If Gingrich wins he should pick Romney. That way even the sore losers will have someone to vote for, excluding of course, the 500 or so who voted for Santorum or Paul.
