Obama's Marxist Jesus
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 2 Feb 2012 | Editorial

Church And State: President Obama has taken a very powerful name in vain in defense of his class warfare economic policies. In fact, Obama encourages a sin Jesus Christ repeatedly admonished: envy.

Attending the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, President Obama declared that raising tax rates on higher incomes "coincides with Jesus' teaching that 'for unto whom much is given, much shall be required.'"

It is disgraceful enough for a president to use a religious event to push an economic agenda that has already insured his place in history as the food stamp president.

But Obama began his remarks by claiming there was nothing political in what he would be saying.

Either guy has a pathetically twisted understanding of the Bible or he's spinning it to suit his political goals.

Liberation Theology as it was being practiced in Latin America in the 1970’s (which is why Reagan had to go to war with it)

Here a Church State discussion for you to start.

Why is Bishop Willard Mitt Romney not using his title? What is he trying to hide? Do we want the elder of any faith to serve as President? Would we want a Catholic, Anglican, Methodist Bishop serving as president? Is it even constitutional? We need to have this conversation now! It's been pointed out by some that he no longer is in that position. With that in mind would we want a retired Bishop to serve as President? It was also been pointed out that if he gets the nomination, it WILL be made an issue in the fall. SO lets start the discussion now, while the conservatives can control it.

Excellent editorial. I’ll be reposting on FB and Twitter, too.

I’m fairly confident that Jesus did not admonish each of us to submit to government-forced charity. That’s not charity. It’s just force.

Jesus wasn't talking about it being required by government, but by God. Of course, ZerO thinks he is some kind of messiah, so to him, it's the same thing.

B O’Bama has learned much at the feet of Rev. Wright. This makes me wonder how much the pastor and his bretheren in the pulpit pay in taxes.

Why is Bishop Willard Mitt Romney not using his title?

Don't know since I don't know all that much about what titles mean in the Mormon church, but maybe because it is a title that is only relevant in the church and not to candidacy for political office.

What is he trying to hide?

What makes you think he's trying to hide anything? I have a title at my church, but I don't use it in public life because it doesn't have anything to do with my public life.

Do we want the elder of any faith to serve as President? Would we want a Catholic, Anglican, Methodist Bishop serving as president?

Why not?

Is it even constitutional?

Of course, why wouldn't it be?

He’s a humanist.

He uses scripture like Satan used it to try to trick Jesus.

He can’t understand the Bible because the Spirit isn’t in him.

Do we want the elder of any faith to serve as President?
CERTAINLY. NO REASON NOT TO.
Would we want a Catholic, Anglican, Methodist Bishop serving as president?
CERTAINLY. NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. JUST HAVE TO DROP THOSE DUTIES WHILE IN OFFICE AS MANY OTHER DROP OTHER TITLES AND DUTIIES.
Is it even constitutional?
WELL YES. HAVE YOU READ THE CONSTITUTION? WHERE DO YOU SEE A PROHIBITION?

Some questions might be pertinent to this discussion:

Is liberty of imperfect individuals in a society more compatible with Christianity? - OR

Is coercive control by imperfect individuals in government over all other imperfect individuals in a society more compatible with Christianity?

Christian teachings encourage individual benevolence, meekness, etc. Where in those teachings are individuals encouraged to use coercive power over the lives of others?

Do imperfect individuals who gain coercive power by election to posts in government somehow become more virtuous and wise than likewise imperfect individuals in the society?

America's Founders preferred liberty for individuals, and their principles made America a desired destination for millions for over 200 years.

coercive control by imperfect individuals in government

Leftists don't believe in the fallen nature of humankind.
Further, they honestly believe that those [leftists] who achieve power in government are benevolent and of higher moral and intellectual levels than the "masses".

I was talking to a sheeperal one day that I could tell had the assumption that democrats in power were of a much higher caliber than others in the nation. I asked her if she'd heard of Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, or Cynthia McKinney, and what she thought of their moral and intellectual superiority. "Never heard of them."

I wonder how many at the Prayer Breakfast threw up their breakfast hearing Zer0’s Social Justice Theology.
