Gingrich says he will not drop out of the race tonight [Nevada LIVE THREAD]
Wash Times ^ | 2-4-12 | Hallow

Newt Gingrich will stay in the Republican presidential nomination contest despite an expected loss to Mitt Romney in Saturday’s Nevada caucuses, the former speaker told The Washington Times late Saturday afternoon.

“We had excellent fundraising meetings and calls yesterday,” Mr. Gingrich said. “Super Tuesday and beyond look good.”

The Georgia native thus dispelled rumors circulating in the press that his campaign had scheduled a press conference for late Saturday, after the results were in from the Nevada caucuses.

“We will probably be a solid second here with [Rick] Santorum in last place,” Mr. Gingrich said, while acknowledging indirectly that attracting donors and voters in sufficient force to overtake Mr. Romney will be a challenge in the coming weeks.

I have the sound off, but don’t worry - shot him with my new Nerf gun - don’t you see the soft suction cup dart on him?

Newt has upstaged Mitt by going last....Romney can’t contradict any thing Newt says..A good maneuver as he is the last thing the MSM will here tonight. I wonder if he’ll also make a BIG headline announcement....10mill donation into PAC or NRCc challenged though the court..

It will be very quiet after this fiasco....His message needs to be very STRONG. Pray for strength and message.

I like a lot of what I just heard Romney say in that speech...just can't trust him to do govern like that given the way he has governed the past.

I don’t think he should concede yet. He is only down 700 votes now and can still gain a lot mor relative to Mitt in Reno. He seems to be doing mucn better coming out of the caucuses than going in.

Romney has this strange quick flash smile thing—like he has a push-button on his back or something.

Flash cheesy grin-zap-gone! It is a really odd, choppy smile like his quick, choppy talk. I’ve never seen anything like it.

.. Ping!!

AS I posted on the Thread about the announcement. My gentlemen new friend, from my caucus today, was a Reagan confidant, and, when I told him of the presser, immediately in my presence called the NV state Newt Campaign Manager and he said the same.. Newt is going to lay out his plan to win!

These results keep conflicting with the CNN results reporting, which constantly have Romney up near the 50% mark.

That’s a big part of it.

I don’t know who I’ll write in, but I can’t vote for another RINO who promises more the same problem.

In addition, I don’t think the complete breakdown of our monetary system can be avoided in the next 5 years, and I want that breakdown to occur under a leftist leader who can no longer blame others for that destruction.

After that, whenever a leftist opens his mouth and demand something = sack party.

My understanding is that non-Mormons can’t go into their temples, but neither can a lot of Mormons. You have to be ‘qualified’ to enter the temples. When the big Mormon Temple was built outside DC some years back, it was open to the public UNTIL it was ‘sanctified,’ following which NO non-temple-eligible Mormon could ever again enter.

When one of my kids was dating a Mormon, we learned that had my kid converted and married the Mormon, and had they married in the temple, we would not have been allowed to attend the wedding itself; however, we would have been allowed to pay for it, and the following reception. Thank you very much.

The local ‘churches’ or ‘stakes’ are different. I believe each has a small ‘temple’ or sanctuary, but the buildings are for other social/athletic purposes. A Mormon neighbor’s son had a wedding (non-temple) that we were invited to and attended. The bride was not Mormon. The wedding was in a non-temple room, with reception in what appeared to be a gym across the hall. Mormons are big into fitness and music, so there were ample rooms to develop those areas.
