JFK did better with Protestants than any democrat Presidential candidate had done in a dozen years, he won 38%, which was an improvement over previous years.
How this is related to the left wing Bishop Romney, I don’t know.
Kennedy took on his religion head on in the press. He would not be taking orders from the pope,etc. Truman when asked said he was more concerned about the pop in the white house than the pope....Old joe was a nazi sympathizer, bootlegger and known womanizer. Seeing pictures of the man I cannot imagine anyone finding old joe attractive...The money was made bootlegging and I do believe the Kennedy’s still own much of Cutty Sark......plus knowing when to get out of the stockmarket before it fell...in the 20’s...
