That may well be true; however, I believe my observation is still valid.

I don't believe I am “whistling past the graveyard;” as I am well aware of Newt's history and have had, and posted, my own doubts about his being able to sustain a campaign w/o “imploding.” I really see no other options out there for Conservatism. So, for me, it's between Romney and Newt. My choice, limited though it is, is Newt.

The option I see is to work like hell for a GOP takeover of the Senate and continued GOP control of the House.

Then, whether next year’s POTUS is Obama or Romney (and it almost surely will be one or the other), monstrosities like Dodd-Frank and Obamacare can be sharply curtailed — even if not repealed — and no more Sotamayors and no more Kagans will find their ways to the SCOTUS.
