Mrs. Brady rips Tom’s teammates for dropping passes (What number was she?)

And here comes the drama.

After last night’s 21-17 loss in the Super Bowl, the wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was making her way to the team’s locker room. Along the way, Gisele Bundchen (I continue to refuse to call her a “supermodel” until she displays at least one super power) vented regarding the inability of some of Tom’s teammates to secure balls that hit them in the hands.

“You [have] to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” she said in a video posted by TheInsider.com, via TBL. “My husband cannot ******* throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

Could be a coincidence, but the Patriots haven't won a Super Bowl since Tom Bundchen dumped his pregnant girlfriend for this one.

Of course, it was about the same time the SpyGate scandal broke and the Patriots were no longer able to videotape the opposing teams’ signals, so it might not be entirely her fault.

They'll have lots of room to sulk when they get back to their new place in California.

What if your spouse walked into your job and said that everything that is wrong with the company is someone else’s fault and not yours?

There is an unwritten rule in the NFL about wife's, they should be seen and look nice but should never comment on the team's performance. The exception is when she's doing the whole team.

This is gossip not news. She stupidly stated in semi-public what she should keep to herself.

There were about 50 people who contributed to the NY Giants win last night.

Yes, the Patriot receivers dropped some perfectly thrown passes, but then I seem to remember Brady getting a
Safety for intentional grounding from the end zone.

It was a great game with just about as little controversy as possible.

...how do you get called for too many men on the field in the championship?

Did you forget that the Giants ALSO got called for this same penalty!?!?

I’m a steeler fan so I had no dog in the fight last night. However, I have always felt that Tom Brady is the epitome of class. He needs to impart some of that class onto his wife. Especially the part about not ripping your teammates in public. Perhaps she should try out for wide receiver next year if she thinks she can do better.

I'm sure the wife and girlfriend of every New England Patriot has a passionately held opinion about how the team did.

Yet only one of these women decided to publicly badmouth her husband's teammates' performance.

What's her excuse? That she has never dealt with the media before?

A lot of Pats fans were (are) saying the same thing - you got to make those plays. But the fans - and Brady - know those passes were dropped by players who give it their all and have made many clutch catches in the past, and they aren't going to, say, start booing Wes Welker.

I do give Tom credit for his criteria in marriage - he wanted a good step-mom for his girlfriends' children.

I have to give a lot of credit to Eli for putting that pass down the sideline in the perfect spot. That’s what a top QB does with the big game on the line. Brady fell a little short this year but he’ll probably be back again.

You really think all of those passes were championship-quality passes? That each of the receivers was 100% to blame and the passes were 100% perfect?

The standard for receivers is that if a pass is catchable it should be caught. Period. Wes Welker is one of the best in the game because he nearly always catches balls like the one he missed. That doesn't absolve the QB for being a little off, but in reality all passes aren't going to be perfect.

he’ll probably be back again

He may be back, but he'll have gone 8 years without a SB win by then.

He turns 35 this year. Sure Elway won when he was 38, but Brady's window is still closing.

I think I saw one or two pretty-close-to-perfect passes which were dropped. The others were tipped, obscured, high, low, over the wrong shoulder, well defended, etc...

More importantly, after Brady got hit a few times early in the game, he seemed panicked and like a deer in the headlights! This is very unusual for Brady and I am pretty sure it was frightening for the other Patriot players to see that look in their usually-nerves-of-steel-QB!

Brady is the LEADER on the field! Several drives he looked and played the part! On several other drives he looked like a fish out of water, looking for anyone or anything to get rid of that football!

Gisele needs to understand that her guy just fell a bit short of her expectations this time. He wasn’t perfect and he did throw a couple of picks that he probably shouldn’t have thrown. I thought the Giants brought their A Game and they pulverized Brady.

Brady might as well hang it up now because he will never have the respect from his teammates like he enjoyed before.

Cute snark, but Brady has already answered you. He praised Wes Welker at length in the post game press conference - and Welker took too much of the blame. What the wife says will not be a problem between them. It may be between Tom and his wife however.

The last drive Brady puts two consecutive passes into the hands of receivers who dropped them. I hate NE, and I agree with her. I was pulling against NE last night and couldn’t believe the luck.

Pretty low class. The QB’s wife shouldn't be publicly bad-mouthing his teammates. The Giants just beat them, that's all. Sure its disappointing, but there are 30 other teams that wish they had at least the chance to win this game. And it isn't the end of the world. Nobody died, nobody got seriously hurt (other than feelings). There were other plays that helped determine the outcome, not just a couple of bad drops. Cripes, grow up, lady.
