Mrs. Brady rips Tom’s teammates for dropping passes (What number was she?)

And here comes the drama.

After last night’s 21-17 loss in the Super Bowl, the wife of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was making her way to the team’s locker room. Along the way, Gisele Bundchen (I continue to refuse to call her a “supermodel” until she displays at least one super power) vented regarding the inability of some of Tom’s teammates to secure balls that hit them in the hands.

“You [have] to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball,” she said in a video posted by TheInsider.com, via TBL. “My husband cannot ******* throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”

The model needs to stand down, and I’m sure she will (has).

However, that ball was put over the outside shoulder because the safety was closing the window from the middle of the field. That’s where Brady meant to throw it. It’s a version of the back shoulder concept throw.

Now, having said that, Welker might have thought the safety wasn’t closing that fast and expected the inside shoulder - which would be a 50-50 call - but the ball was not mis thrown per se.

Right you are. Brady did get a safety which costs his team 2 points. If you think about it, the Patriots were losing by 4 points which made a touchdown the only way to win.

If not for the safety they would have been down only 2 points. They could have won with a field goal.

So , the stupid play by Brady cost them the game.

I'm going to give her a pass this time. I can understand her disappointment. I think when she walked by the Giants fans and they started yelling things at her about how Eli owns her husband she snapped. Her profanity laced tirade was the result of her disappointment being ridiculed by intoxicated brainless fans.

It's just a damn football game and most people don't care who wins. This isn't Cairo Egypt for crying out loud.

Sure she has a point but she also violated the unwritten rule of NFL when it comes to wife's, they should keep their opinions about their spouse’s teammates to themselves.

Brady might as well hang it up now because he will never have the respect from his teammates like he enjoyed before.

Ha! Wishful thinking.

I thought the Giants brought their A Game

They did, but even with their A game it took several unforced Pats mistakes for the Giants to win. It's the team who plays best, not the best team, or the Packers would be the champs.

don’t give up your day job just yet.

There are two glaring errors in your sports analysis - but this is not a sports forum so I won’t elucidate.

He praised Wes Welker at length in the post game press conference - and Welker took too much of the blame.

Welker is awesome, but the Pats defense did a great job on the big stage, and deserve a lot of credit for what coulda/shoulda been a win. They earned a couple of fumbles but just couldn't get that big recovery or INT.

That guy was running off the field after a change of defense - the Pats had 12 guys lined up. Big difference...

Not to Mrs. Brady

Your husband lost the game. He only had his receivers fail to catch the ball. Eli Manning had his receivers get injured during the game and he made the adjustment.

erhaps if Pretty Boy—and you—would recognize that football is a team sport, the Patsies might win a big one now and then.

I can’t wait for you to blow your stack early next season when the reporters as your husband, “Tom, do you think you are in Eli Manning’s class?”

Have a terrible off season, Gesselle.

If the network news were covering her statement like they cover Republicans, they would leave off the last half and just have her quote “My husband cannot F*ing throw the ball.”

if a pass is catchable it should be caught

"Catchability" is not an objective phenomenon.

One could with equal justice argue that if Wes Welker - who routinely catches balls plenty of other receivers would not consider "catchable" - cannot catch it, then it wasn't actually catchable.

When passes are made and men of the caliber of Gronkowski, Welker and Hernandez can't grab them - and they were all from the same passer - then maybe we look at the passer too.

As an impartial observer, I think the following is obvious:

The Giants receivers outplayed the Patriot receivers.

Not having Gronkowski at full strength was a big factor.

The Giant’s punter was a big factor.

Giants got the bounces on the fumbles.

And yet, the Patriots almost won.

The similarity to the game four years ago is astounding.

Giselle was out of order, and I am sure Brady has, or will shortly, address this with his teammates. All these guys have their women and they all understand the dynamic.

Perhaps she should try out for wide receiver next year

She IS a wide receiver.

I'm sorry, but what? Brady did not "lose" the game. The fact that Welkers/Brady catch/drop/Overthrow is being talked about proves that. They were one catch from probably winning the game. Also, Brady lost his favorite target to an ankle injury. Eli has one of the best WR's in the NFL. Not sure your point. Which of Eli's got injured?

erhaps if Pretty Boy—and you—would recognize that football is a team sport, the Patsies might win a big one now and then.

You mean the same Brady that treats his Lineman like kings? That Brady doesn't understand it's a team sport? Win a big one? He has 3 rings?

And funny thing is, I'm not even a Pats fan. But dear goodness man.

Thanks for posting, but wow - lot of folks around here chiming in who I think watch one sporting event per year - and this was unfortunately the one they watched. If the sports message boards trolls happen over here by accident, they’ll have a good laugh at our expense.

"She IS a wide receiver."

Tom might be breaking up with her then. He seems to prefer tight ends...
