Santorum tells Weld residents Obama does not believe America is unique among nations (CO)

During Saturday’s Lincoln Day Dinner held by the Weld GOP, presidential candidate Rick Santorum trumpeted American exceptionalism boldly declaring that our founding documents were not the same as other countries'.

Speaking to a record crowd of almost 650 Republican voters at the party’s annual fundraiser and gathering, Santorum made the case for why he would be the best candidate to go up against President Obama’s policies.

Speaking on Obamacare, Santorum said that Romney signed into law “Romneycare” which the federal health care bill was modeled after and Gingrich at one time supported the individual mandate requiring all Americans to buy health insurance.

“Barack Obama will tear them apart if they even step on this ground,” Santorum said.

One thing to keep in mind, is that with the dumbing down of American children in the Gubmint schools, the concept of American EXCEPTIONALISM is foreign to most people other than the “over the hill crowd” of which I am a member.

I would credit the high percentage showing for Santorum, to be a result of the hard work he has done in pounding the concept into (young) Missouri minds, and slowly bringing the average person to realize what a great Country we still (just barely) have, and what we need to do in order to prevent its being stolen out from under us.

I have been rooting for Newt; but God is sovereign, and I pray that in this crucial time, He will promote the man of His choice. Amen.

Thats the reason I'm pulling for Newt. His idea of colonizing the moon and making it the 51st state, while somewhat farfatched, highlights that he is a big idea guy. He wants America to get ahead because he, like myself, believes that the front of the line is America's natural place.

America is exceptional, but nobody under the age of thirty knows or believes it. They view themselves as "global citizens" per dear leader, rather than simply Americans.

I am an American. Thats enough for me; I don't need or want to embrace a new world order where we have euro-fag judges dictating that we can't drive SUVs or have our firearms. Hell, we have enough judge-activists right here without bowing to the ones all over the globe.

I got somewhat tangential here, but I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Newt is a HUGE teacher of American Exceptionalism - he’s written books and made documentaries about it as well as about our Founders and that, contrary to Leftist propaganda, they were religious men of great faith.

Newt explained one time (he needs to do it MORE, imho) why, at the time, he was for a “mandate” - it was the best, surest way to defeat Hillary Care.

I’ll look for it - or does anyone here know where to find his words on that?

I firmly believe that only Newt can fearlessly, soundly defeat BHO verbally - face to face - and expose him as the liar he is.

This is to llandres, NakedRampage & TexasFreeper 2009, who sent me replies. I, too, am a Newt fan, but I did not mention him along with Rick because Newt is not on the ballot in Missouri. I can touch the screen on the paperless voting machine for EITHER of them. Thanks.

Paraphrased quote:
“Of course I believe in American exceptionalism, just as people of other countries believe in their countries’ exceptionalism”

ie, he DOESN’T believe in the concept of American exceptionalism.

What do you mean, the paperless voting machine?

Touch screen. When you sign in, you are handed a voting card for you to insert into the machine, which tells the machine that you are a bona fide voter.

You touch the screen to choose a candidate from each category, e.g., POTUS, VPOTUS, etc., which highlights that name and all others you choose on that page. Then you move to the next page(s) as the case may be. When you have gone through the entire slate, the machine brings back up all the selections you made and asks you to confirm or edit them.

When satisfied with your choices, you press the VOTE button, which locks in your choices in Memory in the computer, and/or in the system. Then the Voter Card pops out of the machine and you hand it back at the table where you signed in, and another voter uses it, etc., etc.

No paper, no ballot to stuff in a box. This is York County, PA.

P.S. If you desire to vote a STRAIGHT TICKET, as I have done with the Big “R” Lever several times in my 56 years of going to the polls, the machine allows you to do that, without going through all the candidates and offices. You just touch the big icon with REPUBLICAN on it, review the choice, confirm it, and press VOTE icon on the screen.

That’s pretty cool! Here in the show-me-state (at least my part of it), we still have the paper ballots that you have to blacken in the ovals with a #2 pencil :-)))

Some may find this humorous - I just talked to my 93 year-old dad and when we spoke of watching the primary results on FNC, he said since Newt wasn’t on the ballot but Herman Cain was, he voted for Herman! LOL
