“No Republican victory should be deemed “safe”... anywhere.”
As a general rule, you’re right, of course. But VA is a politically competitive state that had held President Bush to 52% in 2000 and 54% in 2004, and would give Obama a 5% margin of victory in 2008, while Nebraska is a heavily Republican state that will give the GOP presidential nominee 65%+ this November. True, NE elected Ben Nelson over Stenberg in 2000 despite George W. Bush carrying the state handily over Gore, but this time the RATs don’t have a “conservative,” two-term ex-governor to run.

What a joke. As if some how Nebraska citizens are at fault for now recognizing the brilliance of the POS Kerry.
Oh how I despise the media.

Kerrey has a fat sinecure as head of the New School whorehouse in NYC. He must have gauged the atmosphere for democrats this Fall and found it chilly. Good sign, not just for Nebbies but the country.

yep. Unlike his sort-of namesake John Kerry, faggot of Massachusetts, Bob Kerrey was a true hero. He earned his Medal of Honor despite being severely wounded. Not just shot in the ass with a few grains of rice.
Doesn't make him a great senator, but just sayin.'

I agree. I don’t like his politics but he is a genuine hero and deserves respect for his military service.

I can’t respect him at all with his voting record. Any good he ever did in his life was more than negated by his Senate “service”.

I did not like his voting record either, but he is not a Senator anymore. I am glad he is not running. Kerrey did come out and call Clinton an “extraordinarily good liar”, which is more than any other ‘rat admitted.
