I just got back from a Northern Colorado caucus. I got up and spoke in support of Newt, didn’t do much good. The Mormons were well represented. Ron paul had supporters get up and speak. They were non voting guest, but no one was told that until after the vote. Anyway, the results were:

mitt 42%
santorum 27%
paul 16%
Newt 15%

It pretty much sucked

These stupid media douchebags, do they not realize that the Missouri caucus later on is more than likely going to reflect the totals tonite? Setting themselves up for the asshat award once again.

Is it indeed true that they can sign up to be delegates after the caucus has closed? Seriously, if true, I never knew that after all my years involved in the process.

If FL was penalized by half its delegates for going too early, why would they also be penalized for having winner-take-all? Can they be penalized twice under the rules?

Put your name in the hat :-) I have been a delegate at the local and state level several times...and I would be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have (that I can answer :-)
I would love to have a fellow FReeper at the conventions!!

Great speech by Santorum. This is the heart of this election Our God given rights as free people.

I think that's what I love about Santorum is that he gets it, our freedom is on the line in this election. He's passionate about our freedom and should be.

I hate it when these candidates start talking about 'issues' like this is just a normal election cycle. Too much at stake.

Back from my MN caucus...

Rick 14
Ron 7
Mitt 7
Newt 5

A number of young folks in line signing in, although not many in my precinct. Maybe the Paul group?

Santorum is like an unpaid sidekick of Newt’s.
Newt is the “Real” winner tonight:
. Romney is pushed aside — not strong.
. Newt’s little sidekick is clearing the road for
the big daddy.

Newt has to watch his mouth thouhg LOL.
And come back big with similar debating styles
that he did in SC and NH.

People will choose Newt. It’s so crystal clear
like the spring water in Alaska.

And I doubt Powers Boothe will ever play Ron Paul on the screen. Actually, that might be pretty good.

We elected delegates, but not for the national level. the delegates elected tonight are precinct delegates and are at the local level. I don’t understand why the Paul people are so giddy. According to our chair this evening, they pretty much have to earn their stripes to be a delegate at the national level. The delegates are first elected for the congressional races, then for the for the state, then nationally. He said it is possible, but not very likely for a delegate to go straight from precinct to national.

The Paul people are running against time if they want to make it at the national level.
