Is it possible that Romney cannot win unless he targets the candidate closest to him with million of dollars or attack ads?

I'd say he can't win unless he runs negative ads against a candidate. But I think that both Newt and Santorum are attacking Romney from both sides now.

I recall a thread where Newt and Santorum talked on the phone. I'm sure it's more than coincidence that both he and Romney began the full scale assault on Romney at the same time.

And it's not a coincidence that both are remaining in the race. It makes it hard for Romney to target just one person.
