Santorum Sweep: Should Mitt quit?
Charleston (WV) Daily Mail ^ | February 8, 2012 | Don Surber

If you cannot put away a 98-pound weakling who is clinging to the ropes, maybe you should be the one who packs it in.

Republican Rick Santorum swept the Midwest on Tuesday in 3 primaries and caucuses that covered the territory Republicans must win in order to defeat Barack Obama on November 6, 2012, and rescue this nation from socialism. Santorum’s overwhelming victories in Colorado (40%), Missouri (55%) and Minnesota (45%) were stunning victories after Mitt Romney seemed to sew up the nomination a week earlier in Florida. I have been saying that Rick Santorum is more electable than Mitt Romney having won statewide races in Pennsylvania twice. Taking on Tuesday 3 states the party needs certainly is encouraging.

However, Republicans face some problems with enthusiasm. You look at the number of people who voted and you see Rick Santorum won by default in two of the three states, not a good sign. Recent economic news has favored President Obama. While voting was up by 18% in Colorado compared to 2008, the vote was down by about that amount in Minnesota and cut in half over 2008 in Missouri.

Governor Romney quit pretty early last time around, so I hope that he will do so again. The sooner, the better.

He should but he won’t. If ANYONE thinks that fellow Republicans have been dirty with their ads, just wait until the nominee is selected. And if it is Romney, the progs will paint a very nasty picture of the Mormon faith.

I hope Romney quits (though I don’t think that’ll happen). He trails Obama in Virginia in the latest Quinnipiac poll, 47-43%.

It’s becoming quite clear Romney cannot and will not defeat Obama.

A warning sign:

As Ann Coulter said: ...."If Romney is the candidate, we'll lose."

Approx. the 10:00 mark.

Let’s see. Mitt won one state next door to his own and where he owns a home, one state next door to a Mormon stronghold and one swing state.

Santorum has won four swing states.

And Gingrich has won one conservative stronghold.

Super Tuesday is coming, which will again re-set the table.

Mitt is as exciting as a white paper plate, the inevitablity and electability mantras are fading, and issues such as gay marriage and dictatorial health care mandates are popping up which make Mitt uncomfortable and cause him to stutter.

Conservatism may yet win the day!

Remember, VIRGINIA already belongs to Mitt. Santorum and Newt are not even qualified on their ballot.

After Bloody Thursday and the Florida carpet-bombing, whatever outcome is the MOST humiliating and expensive for Willard is the outcome I support. Let. Him. Bleed. Out.

Go Mitt! Go straight to hell.

What totally fried my gizzard was Ann Coulter, the morning after Romney won in Iowa by 8 votes, spewing that Iowa had handed Romney a great win.

An 8 vote difference is not a win, it's at best a tie.

Only later do we learn that Santorum actually WON, if you want to get technical, in Iowa.

I emailed O’Reilly and told him to take down the “No Spin Zone” name unless he got Coulter off the air. The woman has been purchased by Romney. We will see if he puts it on the air.

The pundits were just saying Santorum does not have the organization and funding to make it. Santorum will be the guy, or he’ll be the February placeholder for Newt to pick up the baton early March. But, either way, it won’t be “burning” Rome-ny.

Hell yes, he should quit. At least some conservatives would vote for Santorum for president. Then Santorum and Newt can slug it out.

“Mittens should drop out and support Rick:”

Mittens should drop out and go sit quietly in a corner.

I wouldn’t wish Mittens ‘support’ on anyone...
