Go to Santorum's web site and read his tax plan and some of the other info he has on there. Breitbart TV has his speech from last night up, take a look at it. Make a point to pay attention to him at the next debate...my guess is he's going to get a lot more attention next tiume around. He's solid. I trust him. That's more than I can say about anyone else currently in the race.
Yes. That was then, this is now. The times have changed and the mood of conservatives has changed.
Santorum is a genuine establishment fake.
Rush, Levin, Beck have been pretty clear without a formal endorsement who the Conservative they would vote for is. I find formal endorsements a waste anyway. Just look at how ell all of Mittens endorsements are helping him.
So we’d rather pick as the nominee a guy who’s been campaigning for the job the past 5 years or a guy who last held political office 13 years ago?
Maybe, after he destroyed Gingrich in support of Romney and saw his listenership drop, he had a change of heart?
IMHO, he’s a blowhard and I don’t care what he thinks anymore. He actually doesn’t think: as somebody said about a female relative of mine, the mouth is in motion before the mind is in gear.
But that’s what he does. He’s an entertainer, which is fine, but we shouldn’t regard him as an oracle. He does whatever he thinks will sell.
I wish Newt and Santorum would just have a coin toss and end it there. The vote totals between the two make Romney the loser. Romney is clearly the Straw man the fixers have set up to knock down.
Apparently WE think he can. That is why Rick mopped the floor with Mittens last night and left Paul and Newt fighting between third and forth place.
Frankly, I don’t buy the SCOTUS justification for Santorum’s betrayal. It’s a convenient, but hardly indisputable justification.
And let’s not forget the Republican glitterai tried to foist Harriet Miers on us too, so it’s not like they were spoiling for a fight.
He says this in every interview he has given for the last couple years. Even Toomey has said that he understands that decision and hold nothing against Rick. In the world of the internet, all these interviews are just a click away. I think someone posted this mornings Beck interview where this tired ground was covered yet again.
I too think that endorsements are over blown. I was a Perry supporter but when he dropped out he endorsed Newt. Does that mean I’m going to march over to the Newt camp just because Perry did? Like hell!
Yay, no skeletons but the backbone of cooked spaghetti, and the personality of a piece of styrofoam. This guy would be a joke trying to deal with a world crisis, and probably couldn't run a middle school in Topeka without getting flustered.
In this case (and for the past 4 years), they deserve to be mocked - and mocked hard(!) because of almost every single step they have taken (and more likely because of steps they have not taken).
I have completely divorced myself from their charade.
I can't take Mitt Romney. Fool me once (McCain), shame on you. Fool me twice (Romney), shame on me.
Well worth it to join be a Rush 24/7 member, Qwack.
You can listen anytime and watch the Dittocam.
y. Fool me once (McCain), shame on you. Fool me twice (Romney), shame on me.
Excellent, kinsman.
That was all Bush 100%. Miers was his inside girl and he pushed her as hard as he could. Santorums argument on backing Spector in '04 is sound and there is also the dirty little secret no one here will admit. Toomey was a total unknown outside the Lehigh Valley and would have been destroyed by Hoeffel in that election. He had no money and network statewide.
I have no beef with Rick on the issues. He is probably the closest candidate to my own views. I just don’t think he can win. For all his faults, I think Newt is more electable.
Doesn't matter whether you buy it or not, it's not an excuse it's a rerason. It was the reason given at the time and it's stood ever since as the reason. I wasn't happy about it when it happened but it DID guarantee Arlen Spectre would support Bush's USSC nominees.
I do, however, think Newt is more electable than Rick, despite Newt's faults.
