I have no beef with Rick on the issues. He is probably the closest candidate to my own views. I just don’t think he can win. For all his faults, I think Newt is more electable.

Well said... also I think that Santorum with his constant deer in the headlights look, will be chewed up & spit out by 0dumb0 & the demoRAT/MSM political machine. I think they are so deathly afraid of Newt since Newt is the only one who will fire back with rhetorical guns blazing, and will shred 0dumb0 in speeches & debates. 0dumb0 & his fellow commie pigs realize this and that is why they want either Romney or Santorum to run against the RAT bastard 0dumb0!

WOW! And he has the nerve to claim he’s the conservative in the race. A liar never has any shame!

Yeah, I had a crease in my shorts, too.

Fact is, I may be taking it too personally. I had Santorum pegged as our next conservative hope back before the whole Specter fiasco.

When he went for the party instead of the principle, I really washed my hands of him.

Add to that, I find it infuriating that we should give some sort of credit for getting Specter to do what he should have been doing, anyway.

That said, I WILL support Santorum if he’s the nominee. If it’s Romney, I’m staying home.

Bob dole would say (in third person), “Bob Dole was a losing cause.”

No one else would have seriously run against the “Slickmiester” that election cycle...”

The GOP leadership has been an absolutely retarded bag of hammers for quite some time...They got lucky with getting a Bush back in there for two terms (barely), and since then they’ve proven their inability to do what is right for the country dispite their desire to remain in their own power based circles and influences...

Now tell me you didn’t vote for the Bob-miester??? He was the only game in town at the time...

I did, but I never assumed it was a foolish choice...

What is happening these days is the GOP leadership picks someone based upon the simplistic criteria of it being “their turn”...And since Romney has such a blatant liberal record and position on issues, it is not passing any smell test except to those who have no conservative orfactory (sp? hehe) capability...

And if you question them, you get lambasted for being such a true conservative, that they call you a liberal enabler, wanting to see another 4 years of Obama...

Well, I say the GOP leadership and those who support Romney to be doing a fantastic job all by themselves in that regard...They don’t need our help...

Not that I believe any of the candidates left can beat Obama...

So why are ALL the other races for elected office being ignored??? hmmmmm???

I believe a lot of people need to take the blinders off and start paying attention to the big picture...

If we put some effort in we might be able to snag the Senate in this election and keep the house in our hands...that would directly effect and put all the burden for the continued socialist assault on our freedomes in this country flat at the feet of Obama...And anything that does manage to get past gives us the RiNO targets we need to vanquish from their jobs in 2014...

But that is just my opinion...

Some people, even on this website, would rather argue my credentials and accomplishments being a part of the Republican party establishment in the state of Texas, than attempt to correct the problem from the inside, like myself and others in the same position...

When the leadership gives you lip service (at best), and ignores the obvious flaws in the direction the party is going...Many, like myself, are looking for alternatives...

I have a haunch that there is a secret pact Santorum/Romney to oust Newt. Romney agreed to leave to Santorum the "beauty contests" (he hadn't capaigned neither in Minnesota nor in Missouri) and there are rumors that Mitt's super PACs gave $4 million to Santorum.

They tried the same trick in 2008, when Santorum boisterously campaigned for Romney.

Rick Santorum is now trying to draw a clear distinction between his conservative record and Mitt Romney's moderate one, but in 2008 Santorum was very high on Mitt. Santorum actively campaigned for Romney through the Republican primary. In this 2008 video from a Super Bowl kick-off party at a Dave & Buster's in Missouri, Santorum endorses Romney as a conservative who speaks with “with clarity, with conviction, with the heart and the mind together which is what conservatives want to hear."

Santorum is proven a sellout hypocrite.

I support Newt, but it isn’t true that Mark Levin supports Newt...he supports Santorum. The others on your list are correct.

Thanks, txr. You’re right.

Replace his name with FRED THOMPSON , an avid Newt supporter.
