The Americans (I’m making an assumption here) on this thread who are objecting to those of us who are unwilling to sit down and shut up about JC Penney’s new spokesperson made a decision. They may well have been influenced by marxist propaganda, but it was still their choice to accept it.

No one is telling you to sit down and shut up. Free speech is a guaranteed right ... just as it is that a company has the right to hire who they please. Boycott them. Send them letters. Go for it. They'll more than likely ignore you. They have an agenda. But again ... they have a right to that.

Free speech is a guaranteed right ...

No, it isn't. The government cannot infringe upon a person's freedom of speech, but private groups and individuals aren't bound by it.

They have an agenda. But again ... they have a right to that.

Guess what? Free Republic ALSO HAS AN AGENDA, so why are you and a bunch of trolls siding with the militant homosexuals who are trying to destroy Free Republic's agenda?

They have a right to have an agenda. I agree with that.

They also have a right to be dishonest about their agenda and about those who disagree with them. For both JC Penny and for their opposition, this is about the symbolism and message sent by their hiring of Ellen DeGeneres.

JC Penny and others have portrayed the opposition as an attempt to prevent a citizen the right to work. That is dishonest, since the opposition is clearly focused on the message sent by a family store exalting the lesbian lifestyle.

But JC Penny has a right to be dishonest.
