Suddenly Hot Rick Santorum Visits Gun Range (OK)
Opposingviews ^ | 9 February, 2012 | NSSF

Posted on 02/10/2012 7:07:29 AM PST by marktwain

Fresh off primary victories in three states, presidential candidate Rick Santorum demonstrated his strong support for the individual right to keep and bear arms by visiting H&H Shooting Sports Complex in Oklahoma City en route to a rally today.

H&H is a NSSF Five Star member range owned by Miles and Jayne Hall.

The Santorum rally originally was scheduled to be held at H&H, but a surge of requests to attend the event forced a change to the Magnuson Hotel and Convention Center, where a crowd estimated at close to 2,000 gathered. The candidate delivered a speech that focused largely on energy, reported News On 6.

During his pre-rally visit at H&H, Santorum said, “I wish we could have had it here, this would have been perfect.”

He added, “I am very impressed. It is easy to see why gun ownership is so strong here, and I stand tall with the Second Amendment.”

Said Miles Hall, founder and president of H&H, “It was a great honor to show a small but important part of the shooting industry to one of our presidential hopefuls.”

There I go again? it is a fact. Santorum did vote for taxpayer funded anti gun education in schools. Do you deny that?
As for Newt...

http://www.newt.org/solutions/second-amendment
Newt is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and speaks regularly at the NRA’s Annual Meeting. He received an A or A-plus rating from the NRA all ten terms that he served in the House of Representatives, and received the NRA’s Defender of the Second Amendment award in 2010.

I went to the OkC rally...was an EXCELLENT speech and great message...LIFE and the means to protect it are the most important issues. You get those two right and everything else falls into place.

No, it's a twisted interpretation of a fact.

He (Newt) received an A or A-plus rating from the NRA all ten terms that he served in the House of Representatives, and received the NRA’s Defender of the Second Amendment award in 2010.

And that compares with Santorum's A+ how?

Go away.

[I'd have no problems voting for either him or Newt.]

From a fundamental standpoint, neither would I. But, I am a realist. You know as well as I do, the disaster that a nomination of Santorum would mean. The MSM would rip him into confetti sized chunks, and you know it. On top of that, the USA is not the same thing anymore. The voters are no longer predictably conservative.

I disagree with this assertion. What would they rip him on? If it's his stance on issues, then lets have this debate!! The main problem I have with Newt is that they would rip him, but not on the issues. On his mess of a personal life. That would be the story from the opposition. I want the story to be about the issues. I still believe most of America is still more conservative than not. His only problem right now is money and that won't be a problem once he gets the nomination. He'll have the cash pouring in and the Romney supporters will not have felt alienated by his campaign since he never went personal on Mittens. He can unite the party.

Here is the actual voting record. Yes, it is a fact that Santorum voted for anti-gun education in public schools. I am not backing down from the truth.

Santorum voted for taxpayer funded anti-gun education in the public schools. Even rino McCain voted Nay as did Thompson of TN and Inhofe of Oklahoma.

" Why did Santorum vote for anti gun education in schools? Voted for Federal funding for anti-gun education programs in schools. "

Why did Newt sit all cozy on the couch with Nancy D'Alesandro from the Tommy corrupt D'Alesandro gang ?
Why did Newt say many decades ago that he is a environmentalist ?
Why did Newt show signs he is sympathetic towards the Global Warming Hoax theory ?
Why did Newt support Liberal DEDE ?
Why did Newt say " Right wing engineering ?
Why did Newt say that the Reagan Era is over ?

Facts on Santorum are...The National Rifle Association’s threat to punish senators who vote for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor has been met with a shrug by Democrats from conservative-leaning states and some Republicans who are breaking with their party to support her. The gun-rights group is used to getting its way by spooking lawmakers about the political consequences of defying its wishes. But it never before has weighed in on a Supreme Court confirmation battle. It was cautious about breaking that pattern, and it looks like a losing fight to defeat President Barack Obama’s first pick for the court.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32251444/ns/politics-capitol_hill/t/nra-cant-halt-sotomayors-march-court/

Santorum also voted for Sonia Sotomayer to serve as US Circuit Court Judge, 2nd circuit during the Clinton presidency..even McCain voted nay! this woman now serves on the SCOTUS! and is NO friend of the NRA or 2nd ammendment rights.

Santorum supported the extremist judge..Sonia Sotomayer for circuit court during the Clinton presidency. She is a nightmare when it comes to upholding the constitution and now serves on our Supreme Court. Look, Santorum has not been vetted yet..wait until all the facts come out on him..from his anti controlling illegal votes to his endorsement of Spector and the consequences we are dealing with today such as Obamacare. They needed 60 votes to get it passed and Spector was that 60th vote. Lots of damage done..no thanks to Santorum.

" There you go again. At least by now most FReepers know how enthusiastically you misrepresent your assertions. "

Just like how they are trying to make hay our of nothing with that RON PAUL political hit piece ad on video where even Newt is saying and lying because he and his supporters are desperate into making it look like Rick is against and attacking the Tea Party when Rick said nothing of the sort.. now if they actually listened to Rick's actual words, they would get what he was actually say, but, once again, the Newt supporters can't let facts get in the way.... they are sleazy as the Mitt Romney lies machine.

You are evading the FACT that while Little Ricky was in DC ..he voted to nominate her to the circuit court during the Clinton era...opened doors for her..didnt it? she got her foot in the door and Obama loved it. She is no friend of the NRA! so why did Santorum support her? she has done damage on the circuit court and now the supreme court. No, you are ignoring his record because you view him as some religious, constitutionalist. He is not. He even endorsed rino Romney for gov of Mass.

" You are evading the FACT "

It's simply amazing how you slam me on " Evading " about the facts on Rick, but, the Newt supporters go on their merry old ways when they " evade " the facts about Newt,,, simply amazing and hypocritical.

What about Newt's dabbling into the dark side of Global Warming ?
How about Newt's getting all cozy with the like of Nancy D'Alesandro from the corrupt Tommy D'Alesandro gang ? and Hillary ?
How about Newt's comments decades ago about him being a " Environmentalist ?
What you say ? I am digging up the past, as in ? how your digging up the past ?

OPPS !! sorry, I got temporary memory lose.... it's all because Newt made a " Little Mistake " he needs to be forgiven, unlike how the sanctimonious Santorum supporters are how they drudge up the past on Newt ( opps, sorry again, you also are drudging up the past on Rick, but, hey, do as I say, and not as I do, we can't forgive Ricky ? right ? ) ....
Yeah, for Newt ? it's only a " Little Mistake " .... but for Rick ? bad, so bad....

Hey ? what is good for the goose is good for the gander..

Newt’s not a liberal. Only a totally ignorant nutjob would fall for that.

He said it’s right-wing social engineering because the right-wing was trying to force people in Medicare to make a change and Newt said it has to be optional or the public would reject it as too radical.

He didn’t say the era of Reagan is over. What he did say is we need new policies for a new Republican campaign because many of the issues from the Reagan era like the Soviet expansion have changed.

Every good Republican supports RINOs in liberal districts because it’s better than putting up a conservative and having them lose to a liberal. The Tea Party guy didn’t win that race, did he?

Conservatives ARE environmentalists. We’re not for dirty air and dirty water.

No one cares about global warming. Even Obama and Pelosi’s congress couldn’t pass cap and trade. The issue is deader than the dodo. Newt said recently that he doesn’t believe in global warming.
