The Compromise-- The Justice Department Used To Call This Fraud
NRO- Corner ^ | 2-10-2012 | Andrew McCarthy

Posted on 02/10/2012 2:11:18 PM PST by Dysart

...In the scenario addressed by the Obama administration’s cockamamie “compromise,” religious organization employer (call it “A”) wishes to purchase health insurance from B insurance company for C, its employees, but not cover birth-control services that violate A’s religious principles and that the First Amendment protects A from having to subsidize.

Obama is telling A that it can pay B and that the payments will not cover birth control services for C; he is then telling B to cover the birth-control services for C — but only because A is making the payments. A is thus deceived by Obama’s representations into paying B for C’s birth-control services.

That is fraud. If you tried to pull something like it, federal agents and attorneys would investigate and prosecute you.

Sort of like that scene in Demolition Man where Wesley Snipes cannot shoot the criminal mastermind because he has been implanted with a psychological block. So he tosses the gun to another thug and says “Would you please kill this guy?”

It is also a power he does not have under the constitution that is making someone provide some service for free.

Now dont tell me that Obama Thinks I am That stupid to not be able to figure this out.

I think it's fair to say he looks down upon Christians generally, and particularly if they cling to traditional values, culture, etc..believing he's also your superior intellectually.

Yeah, he does. As does Valerie Jarret/Axl Rose or whatever his name is.

Apparently this “compromise” was made up to appease the idiots in the lamestream media...and listening to the latest commentaries, it worked! This is the latest effort in a loooong line of actions designed to trample the Constitution. The House needs to start impeachment proceedings to wake up the Senate pukes about what this POS is doing. They have already rolled over when soetoro stole the right to recess appointments when the Senate wimps went home for the night.

Is FR unusually sluggish today or is the issue with my connection?

Here's the situation in terms that any liberal should be able to understand.

Suppose you only have two restaurants in town, a Pizza Hut and a Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Now suppose that some people want hamburgers, perhaps even employees of the Pizza Hut, so they tell Pizza Hut that they must sell them hamburgers.

Pizza Hut says no, their purpose is to sell pizzas, and that the person must go elsewhere to find hamburgers.

The person says that there isn't another choice for them to conveniently get hamburgers, so Pizza Hut must be forced to sell them hamburgers against their wishes.

The grand compromise is for Pizza Hut to give the people coupons to take to Kentucky Fried Chicken, and then force Kentucky Fried Chicken to sell hamburgers.

That seems to happen during fundraisers. (Just kidding)

...

I am always amazed that FR keeps operating. The number of pages, posts, threads must be huge. I am sure it gets to be a burden on the servers. It does seem a bit slower lately though.

I agree this is just to stupid. Of coarse the liberals talking heads are lying and saying how this settles the issue and how Obama has solved the problem and religious freedom and women RIGHT to contraceptives has also been upheld. When did a right to contraceptives get written in the Constitution. People as sooooo stupid. Health insurance is not insurance anymore it is prepaid health care. Anyone in their right mind (or someone buying health insurance with their own money) would be a fool to pay for things they can and should pay out of pocket. Would you pay car insurance to cover oil changes and gasoline and be stupid enough to not realize you are just pre-paying those costs. DUMB!!

Post #14 here contains a link to an article today that provides all the needed background on imagined “rights” and much more. Read it and this will crystallize for you. BTW, I liked your healthcare-autocare analogy. This is so farcical; it almost seems like a tragic comedy. I Hope nobody gets hurt...

So, what is the exact terminology for this obfuscation? It sounds like it would not pass the legal test. Is this a form of money laundering? or maybe a Ponzi scheme? or maybe a form of kiting?

Do we need a new term for this slight of hand that our essteemed P-Bo is suggesting? How about Obanzi scheme?

Um, abortion is NOT a contraceptive.

Some “contraception” can wind up being abortion.

The pill does not always prevent fertilization, but may prevent an embryo from implanting to the uterine wall. That is an abortion.

Plan B “may” do the same thing - depending on whether or not ovulation has already occured (Plan B is supposed to suppress ovulation, but it obviously cannot if the egg has been released prior to taking the prescription)

Ru486 is a chemical abortion.

IUD’s can also prevent living embryos from implanting - which is also abortive.
