Texas Fossil: “You are talking about Obozo’s “spin fix”, not the original problem.”

Not really. What about non-religious people who don’t think abortion is moral? Is this really about freedom of religion or private property rights? I think the latter.

Granted, the states and federal government have been doing this for years. This just happens to be more blatant. Governments have mandated that insurance companies cover certain things for some time. I don’t see myself getting pregnant...ever...but in some states I can’t buy a policy that doesn’t cover maternity care.

It’s one thing to say an insurance company has to honor the policies it writes, keep a certain amount of funding available to pay claims, etc. It’s something else (for government) to force a company to cover certain things as a price for doing business. It’s also not the same thing for government to mandate I have to buy something I don’t want in order to get what I do want. Even worse, there’s absolutely nothing in the US Constitution that gives the federal government the right to intrude in this.

My point is that only after he was smacked down for his mandate did he decide to force insurance companies to add the coverage.

Subterfuge.

The original problem is not about birth control. The original problem is an issue of Freedom of Religion. An issue so important to our founders that it was written in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution. They stated that those right were granted by God, not the government. It is not the government's to remove...Ever.
