One one hand, that freeper would have been correct, but he was also incorrect. At face value, those nickels, made out of real nickel, and copper pennies are worth more then their face value, but unless you’re going to spend the time and money melting them down, their still worth only their face value.
Too late on the cent.
He'll be able to spend the recycle value right after he serves his sentence at Leavenworth for defacing US currency.
Not only that, countries where they have debased their currencies usually just reprint the paper currency so what coins you have are worth even more.
