Preschooler’s Homemade Lunch Replaced with Cafeteria “Nuggets”

State agent inspects sack lunches, forces preschoolers to purchase cafeteria food instead

RAEFORD — A preschooler at West Hoke Elementary School ate three chicken nuggets for lunch Jan. 30 because a state employee told her the lunch her mother packed was not nutritious.

The girl’s turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips, and apple juice did not meet U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines, according to the interpretation of the agent who was inspecting all lunch boxes in her More at Four classroom that day.

The Division of Child Development and Early Education at the Department of Health and Human Services requires all lunches served in pre-kindergarten programs — including in-home day care centers — to meet USDA guidelines. That means lunches must consist of one serving of meat, one serving of milk, one serving of grain, and two servings of fruit or vegetables, even if the lunches are brought from home.

When home-packed lunches do not include all of the required items, child care providers must supplement them with the missing ones.

The girl’s mother — who said she wishes to remain anonymous to protect her daughter from retaliation — said she received a note from the school stating that students who did not bring a “healthy lunch” would be offered the missing portions, which could result in a fee from the cafeteria, in her case $1.25.

“I don't feel that I should pay for a cafeteria lunch when I provide lunch for her from home,” the mother wrote in a complaint to her state representative, Republican G.L. Pridgen of Robeson County.

Again, why act surprised? Stuff like this is what the majority of those who voted on November 4, 2008 said, via their votes, they wanted. And if you think this is bad, wait until obamacare fully kicks in.

[ That means lunches must consist of one serving of meat, one serving of milk, one serving of grain, and two servings of fruit or vegetables
Sandwich - meat, dairy and grain

Banana & apple juice - fruit/veg

And they fed the girl nuggets? So, apparently the story here is 1) do not feed your own child & 2) if you do - MORE TURKEY (to match the one in the White House). ]

She should send the same food Michelle eats every day witht he kid then they would really have a reason to confiscate the kids food for being unhealthy.

This issue, this one right here, is the only one you need in order to win the election against Obama.

Nobody, liberal or conservative, wants to live in a world where a federal inspector, with a pension, gets paid to inspect your kids lunch and pass judgement on it.

This is the sort of thing even idiots can understand.

Somebody, somewhere in Obama’s government thought this was an excellent idea. This is the point.

The hue and cry being raised has to do with the quality of the lunch. The inspector made a warrant-less search. That must be the issue going forward

The inspector had no authority to enter the school to search lunch boxes. A warrant is required for each and every such lunch box and must be issued on the basis of probable cause.

You show up at the pta and the school board and demand they cease and desist immediately.

Don’t fall for that garbage about federal money.

We MUST stand up before they become so entrenched you can never get them out short of hanging them.

Those are a nasty product. I feel ill thinking about eating a nugget. It is all kinds of shit from a chicken and it is cleansed with amonia concoction to steralize the bacteria and fecal matter in it. Yeah, tell the whole story on nuggets. Hey, and welcome to Bigdirty.

[ Hmmm, last week the FDA director said we don’t properly train parents to make lunch for their children. I’m surprised the agent didn’t tell the girl that the Lunch Lady will lose her job if Mommy keeps making her lunch. ]

Maybe they can hire union teachers over the summer for “Parental Re-Education” classes at the empty schools during summer break, sounds like an excellent plan to payback all of the teacher’s unions. They could make it mandatory for all parents who have children in the school. That way they can pay off the teachers who are in the unions giving them an extra month or two of pay for these mandatory 2 classes a week that only last no more than 2 hours. Which means the teachers would work only an extra 40 hours and get paid for essentially 8 weeks.

The more I learn about Liberals the more ideas I get as to how they can use the “public good” to bring forth policies that are ultimately destructive to society.

Hmmmmm......

My lunch today? Turkey sandwich. Bag of Chips. Applesauce instead of a banana. I thought that it was pretty tasty and nutritious.

Gave my son the last thing of Apple Juice in the house for his lunch today and I had a Coke instead.

Suppose the Food Police are going to come for me?

“a state employee told her the lunch her mother packed was not nutritious.”

Find out where this nazi insect lives, and make it known to this thing that it’s no longer welcome in the state.

Do we have to include “government agent rifling through your lunch box without a search warrant” in the list of things that are “bad touching” for which the child can use any self defense method available? Maybe the USDA employees wouldn’t be so eager to do these daycare raids if a couple came back walking funny from a kick in the crotch by a four year old.

No one gave them the “right”...they simply took it and are daring us to do something about it or shut up.

This is an outrage. Its none of their damn business.

And they should be told so in no uncertain terms.

I've boycotted Tyson products ever since they gave the illegals the day off work to march in the May Day demonstrations years ago.

[ There was a time when a friendly “punch to the face” would solve many of the problems plaguing our country.
Sadly, the rise of the trial lawyer and the meddlesome politician have made those simple solutions a thing of the past. ]

I honestly cannot wait until they pull this crap on the child of the county sheriff or mayor of a small town who has a devil may care attitude about the federal goons.

I think the solution to this tyranny is to have county sheriffs arrest these federal goons and thow them in the county clink.

They are worried about the “Bubba effect”, I would be more worried about the “Sheriff Joe effect” if I were them.

With a police escort.

Who would first shoot the family dog. ]

For the good of all us, Except the ones who are dead.....

Actually Nuggets are one fo the few foods I can stomach when my tummy is upset for some reason. But yeah, how a Nasty school lunch nugget can beat a Homemade Turkey sammich in nutritional value in a fed inspector’s eyes is beyond belief.

Kids run around and play so much that they probably burn off this lunch in less than half a day at school

You must be living in a cave, lol, don't you know it's unsafe for kiddies to run around and play they might fall or hurt each other they must do what the Nazi leaders say, no ball playing ,running ,swings, jungle gyms, etc etc.
