Are dividend distributions taxed now?

Yes, they are. They are considered profit/net income.

So, dividend distributions are taxed twice: once by the corporate income tax, and again by the individual income tax.

That's the real reason for the reduced individual income tax on qualified dividends, but that doesn't fit the narrative of "class warfare".

Why would Obama tax dividend income then allow expensing of dividend distribution?

Now I know how some of the families living near the Mason-Dixon Line felt at the start of the War of Civil War. Which side am I on in this “Class Warfare”?

The Mrs & I live on Social Security & VA disability. We also make about $25-$50 each year in dividends. Does that make us greedy, wealthy capitalist oppressors, part of the 1%?

Or are we part of the poor, oppressed class? If I have a choice, I choose to be a capitalist.

(BTW, we are doing just fine financially....not rich, but just fine!)

“But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.” 1 Timothy 6:8

Class warfare is for idiots!
