“I might not like a lot of Santorum's views, but at least I know what they are. Saying Romney flip-flops is an insult to flip-flops. That's why, according to a poll by the American Research Group, 33% of Michigan GOP voters say they support Santorum and only 27% support Romney.”

Paul and Romney neck and neck in Maine. The poorest counties in Maine will vote this weekend as GOP canceled because of a snow storm (small) but people live a distance apart. Paul people said the Girl Scouts did go to their meeting. Paul camp was accusing Romney of purposely thru the GOP of this action so those votes would not be counted. So they vote this weekend so that race is not over. Also found were D's and Independents that voted and/or more votes then people registered at this 10 day plus caucus which is nothing more than the GOP trying to get workers for the campaign with speeches one has to sit thru in whatever county based school u attend. U are there for a good part of the afternoon. Most do not even go as it is not the same process as in a regular Election where u are in and out. Mine was moved to another location after hearing a speeches in another. I finally left as many like me and did not vote. This just an example of how these extended caucuses get little attendance. My guess is Paul could get ME. No one bothers when the GOP makes it miserable to even vote. In the end the poorest county in Northern ME Machias area have not voted and would go Paul. Did I hear from an Atlantic writer that only 6,000 people even voted in ME? I have no immediate figures. Complaints are coming in and well deserved in doing so. Even in Maine there were issues in suspect. But attendance in some areas were record breaking. Still a joke!

I’m with Liz, Romney is a total fake. Good column.

I largely agree with you as to why Santorum lost his Senate race. However, Specter did deliver two SOTUS justices. You may disagree as I do with Santorum on his social values focus but I believe his motives and sincerity. He also has a good conservative record and a fine intellect.

I believe he can win because he can be the Republican rock star...young,feisty appealing to a wide range of people. That’s how Obama got the votes. Many vote personality..what kind of personality did Juan McCain have...certainly far from that of a rock star...more like a rock!

If the homosexual-loving Muslim Barry Hussein Soreto wins in November this country will be forever changed. Like he made letting homosexuals openly serve in the Armed Forces a campaign vow, I guarantee he comes out in defense of homo marriage. He will say anyone that feels like it can get “married”. It is fine with him. He’ll sign an executive order. Then men will want to marry their daughters and german shepards, and billy goats. Women will want to do the same. Who can tell them no? Anything will go. If marriage is not for a man and woman, then it’s for anything anyone wants to do. Marriage as humanity has known it for the last 5,000 years will be over. Children will be indoctrinated in schools that it is perfectly normal behavior for them to want to marry members of the same sex. Like a snowball heading straight to hell, this country can not stand any more assaults on the family unit. It is absolutely necessary for the survival of the race, and Maxists like Hussein could care less. This next election is about the soul of this country. If Hussein goes back in it’s over. Stick a fork in the United States. We’re done.

If Obama’s white clone Mitt gets in do you think it will be any different? Mitt’s already ushered in gay marriage in this country through his own actions as governor in Massachusetts. He wanted gays in the military and saw don’t ask don’t tell as a step on the ladder needed to make gays in the military become reality.

I agree that if Obama gets it, it will be bad times but I also say his clone Romney won’t be any better. We have to hope that either Santorum or Newt can keep that from happening.

Naw. Would a liberal do that? Might Soros have done that and Newt took it hook, line, and sinker? Couldn’t be.

You are exactly right. Romney is Obama-light. That’s why the GOP is done as a party if this clown gets the nomination.

Paul was interviewed on that fact that he did not stand a chance to win over those with more $$$ behind them, or his age, or because of the tinfoil hats that follow him present a negative. Paul replied he was there to bring attention to the economic downfall in this country by an overspending government, that it could be fixed in his third term,& mostly those who would be effected economically in years to come jumped in behind him-a cross section of America.

I compared that "reason for being" to the scene in The Iron Lady..where Thatcher was asked by a reporter the same qusstion in regard to chances on her ever winning and she replied she did not expect to win but she would at least be "nipping at the heels" of the politicians to get the issues heard. She knew the cost of butter when the elite politicians made fun of her for being from a shopkeeper family--she quickly added she was but then again she also went to Oxford.

Cain followed Paul on his 9-9-9 Plan which "in part people liked [it was meant to be the Intro to the discussion]; was not until then that the candidates started addressing the economics-flat tax etc.

I feel the information fed the public is so muddied that becomes a foreign language to a majority of Americans-investing-they never had enough to invest or knew how to invest, they never saved but spent for wants over needs; they think the refunds they receive is“their money returned ”,the entitlement are from the Government as an humanless entity not People who under penalty of the law must fork over or the IRS will become your worst nightmare. It is the taxpayer who pays-the more you make the more you pay in taxes % group...all so muddied and purposely deceptive. Bama with Pelosi and Maxine Waters [puke] 2 of the most devious of thewhole bunch..make it a point to play out the class warfare card, as that's all they got!

Paul in all likelihood may not win, but he will be remembered for what he stood behind in theory and never wavered from. Paul brought some things to the table that everyone agrees with.. his followers will still remain to fight again on another day--nipping at the heels of these GOP establishment Big Government politicians.

The GOP has already chosen their winner--as if we really needed the caucuses and thought we ever had a voice--as in ME; for instance, where the GOP; in a neck and neck race by 200 votes, declared the winner-Romney before the biggest county-the poorest county had voted [this Sat]. Santorum and Newt did not make appearances. Paul has good reason to be upset--whether he is our choice or not.
