At a press event on the payroll tax cut yesterday, President Obama mentioned how extending the proposal would help Americans pay for gas as the price increases.

Obama attributed the growing price of oil to a strengthening economy which in turn means demand for oil increases.

"And when gas prices are on the rise again because as the economy strengthens, global demand for oil increases. And if we start seeing significant increases in gas prices, losing that $40 could not come at a worse time," Obama said.

Yes, I remember how terrible things were when gasoline was $1.98 a gallon.

For Liberals progress equals killing the poor before they are born, plan B is to strangle them at the gas pump.

“I clearly hope the majority of people living in this country today are not dumb enough to re-elect this fool”

IMO, I believe the majority don't really pay attention to the election till Sept/Oct. Using the MSM as their info source.

And fewer people looking for work, having given up, means lower unemployment; i.e., a “recovery.”

LOL I didn’t realize how bad we had it back in the days when gas was around 60 cents per gallon.

Hot damn, a sob story to tell the youngsters about.

This is a sign of intentional destruction of America’s energy infrastructure.

It is methodical, intentional and with purpose.... to weaken the economy and deny America her ability to fight a war even if it is purely defensive. Without energy? There is no economy. Without energy? There is no defense.

Everything this Ghazi touches and everything he does is about the weakening and destruction of America.

I think the tragic truth is that the majority of the American people — particularly those under 40 — simply do not care one way or the other.

They now care simply and solely about bread and circuses — the circuses being the profligate way they now live their own lives and choose to entertain themselves (consider today’s movies, TV shows, and music).

Hopeless? Not if you are a Obamunist. It is life as they want the peonage to live it.

Really. Why doesn’t some Journalist ask if such a scenario as you tongue-in-cheekily suggest were to happen if indeed the economy go into a roar?

Better yet, get a couple of pubbies out there and maybe come up with such clever snark. No wait....gotta have some courage there...forgot.

Heh.

It’s the “multiplier effect.” Sure, it’s never worked, and it defies common sense, but let’s give it a try —what with the flourishing economy, and everything.

I would endure gas at $10/gallon if it means for certain that Osama is run out of office by outraged people. The FUBAR economy is his now, like a millstone around his scrawny neck. Our mantra in 2012 must be, “It’s the economy, stupid!”

This is all sounding very familiar to me:

The German economy was especially vulnerable since it was built upon foreign capital, mostly loans from America and was very dependent on foreign trade. When those loans suddenly came due and when the world market for German exports dried up, the well oiled German industrial machine quickly ground to a halt.

As production levels fell, German workers were laid off. Along with this, banks failed throughout Germany. Savings accounts, the result of years of hard work, were instantly wiped out. Inflation soon followed making it hard for families to purchase expensive necessities with devalued money.

Overnight, the middle class standard of living so many German families enjoyed was ruined by events outside of Germany, beyond their control. The Great Depression began and they were cast into poverty and deep misery and began looking for a solution, any solution.

Adolf Hitler knew his opportunity had arrived.
