A lot of that is actually courtesy of the Soros-backed organization CREW that some around here, including you, are peddling. I guess you consider that evidence you are a “true conservative” to use CREW talking points?
this is what im banking on.
Not sure that Hillary is liberal enough for the cossacks...
As I recall, that is what happened. Rush’s “Chaos” was long after the initial primaries and after the Kennedy’s put their stamp on Obama.
Looking at the polling for Santorum, I don’t see why so many people are excited to see him get the nomination.
He lost his senate seat in a landslide...in a swing state.
interfere with an election/primary. I couldn't believe
he abused his power like that; since we have much fraud in our
voting process. Now, we are having problems, not knowing the
true support to this particular candidate.
“I guess you consider that evidence you are a true conservative to use CREW talking points?”
I use information from wherever it comes if it is factual! CREW has publicized Democrat corruption, too, in the past. Most of my information has been verified through other sources and not just CREW.
And I don’t trust people who keep pushing for Santorum. Some I am sure believe him to be a pure conservative, but he is nothing of the sort. He is a liar, dishonest, a hypocrite and corrupt. It is better to know now exactly what kind of person he is rather than have the Democrats shove it in our faces come this fall.
He defeated Doug Walgren for represent Pennsylvania’s 18th congressional district in 1990. Santorum repeatedly criticized Walgren for living outside the district for most of the year, something he himself would do serving in Washington, D.C. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - Nov. 7, 1990)

On April 12, 2007, political action committee America’s Foundation, Highmark and a former Highmark vice president were fined by the Federal Election Committee for providing Santorum with corporate money for campaign fundraising events.
“In announcing the penalty yesterday, the Federal Election Commission also said it assessed a $20,000 fine against a former Highmark vice president and a $7,500 fine against Mr. Santorum’s political action committee, America’s Foundation. The donations went toward three golf tournaments at the Country Club of Hershey and a private fundraiser, the FEC said.” (Quote from AP)

I could go on and on, but you get the picture.
I don't agree with you about Newt Gingrich being the best nominee, but I emphatically **DO** agree with you that it is insane to let Republicans help pick Democratic Party nominees or to let Democrats help pick Republican Party nominees.
I understand the historic arguments for primaries — there were serious corruption problems in the old “smoke filled rooms” — but in the modern world I see no reason not to have party caucuses where those who are motivated enough to actually take the time to listen to candidate representatives and discuss things with their neighbors are the ones who get to pick the nominee.
If we wonder how we get RINOs, maybe we need to look at things like this and ask why people who haven't invested the time to learn about the candidates, and may not even support the political party at all, get a role in picking the candidate.
Now what's wrong with the picture when a FReeper is echoing Daily Kos talking points? LOL...
Seriously, I think what you're pointing out is that the economic conservatives in the Republican Party share with liberal Democrats the view that social conservative issues are a recipe for defeat.
I disagree.
Where I don't disagree with you is that your view represents a significant viewpoint within the conservative movement.
Read this article in the New York Times arguing that the Republican Party's traditional economic conservatives have created a monster they can no longer control, namely, the religious right and the Tea Party, which are distinct but related movements insofar as they're both anti-establishment:
The New York Times writer is on to something important here about divisions within the Republican Party.
I respect economic and military conservatives who are not religious conservatives. I happen to count myself in all three categories, but even if I didn't, we all have more in common with each other than we have points of difference, and we all need each other to win elections.
But that doesn't mean we don't have important differences.
Let the idiots vote for Santorum! I’m SO happy that it’s looking more and more like Myth is NOT going to be our candidate!
CONSERVATISM WINS. They will regret their “hilarity” when the joke is on them.
FYI
Finally, someone on this thread remembers correctly that Rush encouraged people to vote for Hillary in some primaries, and Obama in others. That seems to be the source of everyone’s confusion, which is kind of an appropriate legacy for Operation Chaos.
Bad wording by Rick, to be sure, but are you going to suggest that the alternative attitude is the proper one? Punish the most innocent victim of the crime?
Rushbo himself seems to have disremembered it(conveniently).
this should cut down on his 98.whatever% correctness level.
“Now, we are having problems, not knowing the
true support to this particular candidate. “
I’m not going to endorse what Rush did, but I don’t think you can blame him for dems interfering in our primaries, even if they are saying that Rush is their inspiration. They’re lying, because they were interfering with our primaries long before Rush did Chaos. Rush just gave them a convenient excuse for what they would have done anyway.
And since we all know how well Operation Chaos worked out, this one can have a similar, but much happier, ending.
President-Elect Santorum, please raise your right hand to take the Oath of Office.
