RUSH: Dewight, thanks for your patience. I want to get to this guy. His name is Dewight. He's in Houston. Dewight, thanks for your patience. I really appreciate it. Great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Thank you so much for taking my call, El Rushbo.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: I'm a truck driver, and I be, you know, listening to your show. I have been listening to you for the longest. And the things that you say, I uses that. And I go back to the 'hood, Rush, and say what you say, but I don't tell 'em you said it, and they agree 100%! No arguments, no nothing. And how you know I listening to your show is because you'll say, "Well, I'm 99 percent -- point nine always percentage right."

RUSH: Uh, 99.7, Dewight.

CALLER: Okay. You right, man. You right. But then... And I know your callers call in and say, "Well, Rush, I know you said this or you said that," and they try to have a chance of win something. Well, I know on the Florida caucus, now, you did say that Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum would have in more votings in that election over there for those caucuses, and would out-beat Mitt Romney. But instead it was reversed Mitt Romney took it by a landslide. Am I correct?

RUSH: Well, not a landslide, but it was... And I didn't predict definitely. I said it's likely.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: I said it's likely, but that was the first instance where Romney's total votes were larger than the two or three conservatives opposing them.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: It was the first time it had happened. But I want to go back. You said that you're a truck driver.

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: You listen to what I say and you take it back to your buddies in the neighborhood. You don't tell them who said it. You just say what I said as though it's your own thoughts and they agree with all of it?

CALLER: They are with it.

RUSH: Now, what would happen if you told them that you had been listening to me that day and this is what I said?

CALLER: Well, I...

RUSH: (laughing)

CALLER: I don't know what they would say, but they probably would look at me like was I funny like: You listen to the Rush show?

RUSH: Yeah. I was afraid of that.

CALLER: My wife, she drinks that... I don't know if you heard of that "ahrisano" (ph), some kind of tea. I don't even want to say the name. So I brought it up to her attention. I was saying, "I know there's this great tea that we can order." And, you know, I said, "Let's order with Rush. It's a tea. It's a real good tea. He talks about it. It's good. I listen. I know it!" "Oh, I ain't gonna try it. I -- I ain't gonna do that! I don't want that." So I was like, "But you ain't never tried the tea, so why would you think that it's no good?" You see what I'm saying, Rush? So I just think we are just being manipulated. I don't know why we want to hide from the truth.

RUSH: Well, I want... I'm gonna ask you a very sensitive question, Dewight.

CALLER: Mmm-hmm?

RUSH: Are your buddies prejudiced? I mean, you don't tell them who said what you're repeating. You're afraid to tell 'em it's my tea. Are your buddies bigots? Are they prejudiced?

CALLER: You know, Rush, I don't want to say if they prejudiced or not, but I don't think that if... They don't want to hear it from you.

RUSH: Yeah, I know.

CALLER: Even though it's the truth, Rush, they might not want to hear it. You see what I'm saying? So, I mean -- and that could be bigoted.

RUSH: So what you think I ought to do? That's a big problem for me, Dewight. I mean, I'm right. But if they think it comes from me people will just oppose it on that basis alone. What should I do?

CALLER: Well, Rush, no matter what they do... Because every station that you listen to, you can hear they talk about you. They hear it! They don't want to believe it. But like you say: I'll say something, you say it, and bring it to them, they see I'm on top of the news. "He knows. He got it." The wife says, "He's good. He knows he talking about it."

RUSH: Okay, Dewight, here's the answer: You now have a new responsibility.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: You have to be my emissary.

CALLER: (chuckling)

RUSH: You have to take what I say and take it to you as many of your friends wherever it's possible and say it as yourself.

CALLER: Uh-huh.

RUSH: 'Cause the point, the real objective here is to have your buddies understand what's really going on. And if they're gonna reject it simply 'cause it comes from me, then you're doing the right thing, sadly.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: You're doing the right thing by telling them it's not from me. But now the onus is on you. The onus is on you to get their minds right.

CALLER: Okay. I appreciate that, Rush.

RUSH: You gotta keep listening to me and then you gotta keep spreading the word that I say as though you believe it. You've heard it somewhere, you think it's true, you know it's true, you found it on your own, whatever.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: You'll be doing these guys a favor. You're helping them out. You know their mistakes. You're showing them the right way versus the wrong way.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: That's --

CALLER: I heard when you talked about when the Tavis Smiley and the Cornel West and how they were getting on him and I wanted to say... I can't know how you said it, but I used it the same way you said it, and I was right! (laughing) You were right, too, Rush! So...

RUSH: Yes, I know. I'm used to that.

CALLER: (chuckles)

RUSH: Well, it's fascinating, Dewight. This happens all over the country to a lot of people. I don't know what to do about it. This is, by the way, a testament. It's an example of how the media can succeed in discrediting people that they disagree with. They haven't been able to destroy me but they can discredit me with people who don't take the time to listen themselves. I appreciate the call. The onus is now on you. The responsibility is yours. I appreciate it, Dewight.

And just how do you know that?

Where there's a shell, there's a way.

25 years ago, we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, and Bob Hope.
Today we have Obama, no cash, and no hope!

If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.

Or you can get raw with these strings.

How about this gamechanger from America's Got Talent (which they SHOULD have won).

And finally, this, dedicated to the one and only rdb2, whose eyes are growing dim.

Either way, the violin is sweet yet LETHAL.

Do it!

I’m not in the same position as Dewight - the people I deal with are in a different situation than he is. However, I see what he is saying within my own peer groups that I interact with.

Some have responded to my forthrightness in regards to various political subjects by “dropping” me as a friend at FB (for instance). Most of the time when asked they cite the “fact” that you shouldn’t talk about anything related to politics or religion “in public”. I understand how some people vigorously avoid the topics, but IMHO the “public square” is exactly where we SHOULD be speaking up.

Sometimes, in my debates my friends will literally say; “You sound just like Rush, why do you repeat everything he is saying” — HONESTLY, I rarely listen to Rush EVER. It’s just that I come to the same conclusions by reading and discussing things here at FR (which I think is probably because Rush reads FR, too! LOL).

I guess all I’m really getting at is that Dewight isn’t the only one who sees this when dealing with liberals. It seems they are ALL very closed minded to the possibility they could be wrong in their way of thinking, or what they have led themselves, or been led to believe. When it comes to Rush Limbaugh he could tell them the sky outside is blue and they would swear forever it wasn’t simply because of who said it - it’s insanity. It’s sad, but that’s what the Alinsky method does to its opponents.

All that said, I appreciate what he does - even though I’m not a regular listener - because at least someone is out there speaking about things that most people wouldn’t even know about if it weren’t for his show.

my listening and knowledge of human nature...

rush is usually a very giving person and will look for a reason to give away tea, an ipod, a bed, lifelock, subscriptions to newsletter, or computer security...

i am amazed at the stuff he gives to the people who nearly openly beg for it... “my daughter’s, sister’s, uncle’s aunt’s computer was stolen along with her identity and now she can’t sleep a wink on her uncomfortable mattress, worrying about all the tea that will be ordered in her name and shipped to places who knows where, and enjoyed by liberal scum, but it is great tasting tea, rush, and your picture on it is enough to sell it to any woman worth her weight in conservatism.”

end transcript of my imagination.
